Win’s a win. Poor performance, but 11 days off now is very welcome. Steve and GLC back hopefully with Davies due a return.

Cup double still on, lads :cautious:

Through to the next round! Fucking robbery again

Gotta thank Dele and Gedson for the victory. Game changed as soon as we had some energy on the pitch. The starting midfield was shocking, Winks having to do the work of 3, off the back of his effort on Sunday is unacceptable. Players physically unable to do their jobs, and were given the runaround by Saints, who'll be gutted they ain't through.

But we showed some character, and somehow got the job done.............COYS

TBF if the saints defender cuts that pass out as he should've people (me too) would've been saying that... I know Dele likes a nutmeg but I didn't know he had ten yard nutmegs in his locker...

im pretty sure he nutmegged the ref first of all. Amazing!!

He plays up to it big time saying we have no options on the bench to change the game etc making people feel sorry for us etc but to be fair we are a bit light up front and in attacking areas, I don’t think ideally hed want to start 5-3-2 with an off form dier, a tired winks and half fit ndombele.

He’s doing great with what he has to work with which is a very talented squad but one which is a bit light at full back and in attacking areas.

Southampton also played Liverpool.

Although 24 hours ealrier tbf
And were out of the game by half time. The gap does make a difference. I haven't watched the game yet but I suspect playing with that formation made a big difference.

I think we’ve seen something there to work from. Playing Dele as almost a False 9, with Son & Moura given the freedom to play in the channels, we looked to play on the ground rather than aim hopeful balls in the air. Equally, allowed us to play 3 CM’s, one sitting, the other two working up and down. Better balance.

Admittedly I thought Alli was the wrong choice of sub today, but the that’s why I’m not a professional football manager I suppose.

You can see now just what Jose does. He wins. We no longer need to play well to do it. I dont like this style of play, especially when we look so disjointed in attack. But you just know that Jose will make us nigh on impossible to beat and that we will produce loads of victories like tonight. Soak it up for an hour and then turn it on. The more the players buy in to it and get used to each other, the better we will play.

Not how I want us to play, but we need to become winners and Jose can do that for us.
