Lost 2-1

Brighton went up a few gears at the beginning of the second half and they scored from a corner and they was the better team on the night.

Some of them individual performances faded in the second half Hinds and White lost the battle in midfield and Markanday also faded, BLF and Cirkin finished the game strong and it is good to see BLF play a lot better of late.

Our best player on the night Josh Oluwayemi without him we would have lost this game by more, he pulled off two top class saves but he was also very good all game.

How far off do you think Cirkin is ? Could he hold his own in seniors against lesser opponents ?

Some clubs use their overage allocation for U23s matches. We seem to think playing anyone over 20 is a breach of rules.

No, i know the rules have changed with the U23's. Just found it odd he was playing lol must've been making up the numbers

yes he could, he still has a lot to learn but physically he would have no problem.

He had a good battle tonight with the Brighton wide player who did get the better of Dennis Cirkin a few times but as the game went on Cirkin was too strong for him.

Even at u23 football Dennis Cirkin is walking through players and at his age I can only see him getting better and he is the best LB I have seen at Spurs for a very long time.

Pre-Season would be the best time to have a look at him.

He played very well and he had no problems getting around the pitch and he is a mobile CM player.

Really pleased to hear we may have another great prospect coming through, even better, we can use a rejigged classic song for him:

Nice one Dennis, nice one son........

How are the CB’s rated by our regular youth watchers. Is Binks on Tanganga level, and if he leaves, with Walcott, Lyons-Foster and Muir are we pretty well covered anyhow.
What type of CBs are they all, pacey, powerful, cultured, or mixture?

tanganga:
+ loves defending first and foremost
+ strong
+ quick

- reactive/impulsive rather than proactive
- not especially strong with the ball at his feet, not bad but it's not a strength of his

eyoma:
+ strong
+ decent on the ball

- gets caught out positionally
- maybe doesn't have the leap that tanganga has to make up for the lack of height

lyons-foster:
+ very slick on the ball
+ composed defender, doesn't make rash decisions

- can sometimes be too confident on the ball, ala foyth
- physically weak and easily bullied

binks:
+ strong
+ good defender on the ground and in the air
+ excellent long passing range

- a tad slow/unagile

walcott:
+ tall
+ calm on the ball

- positioning/reading of situations
- quick once he gets into his stride but lacks in the first few yards

it's easy to say now that tanganga's the goat but really i don't think there's much between them all, not from what they've shown at youth level anyway. obviously you never know how they'll cope with the step up until they're given a chance though. i'd not seen tanganga speak before his debut against liverpool but straight away you can tell that he's unfazed by the whole thing, which is a great quality to have for a young player stepping up.

Apart from Tanganga, Binks was really the one for me. I thought there was a bit of the JT about him just looked a presence. Will be gutted if he’s gone for good.

just seen Binks agent is David Dein son. Probably lured him to Arsenal via MLS.

yeah it's a shame, looking at the current 2nd year players it's probably the best intake we've had in a while:

kurylowicz
walcott
binks
cirkin
white
cooper
pedder
bennett
asante
parrott

cirkin and parrott have a good chance of making it as long as we get their development right. white a little behind those two for me but a good player who could maybe get there, bennett needs a lot of work but he has pace and ability. binks was on the right path but has obviously now chosen to go elsewhere and walcott has the makings of a decent player but needs to put it all together. we also had madueke who left and is now breaking into psv's first team(came on against ajax this weekend).

Thanks for that. Was just curious that what with Tanganga’s recent impact, assuming Vertonghen is winding down, if the club promotes Tanganga to be one of the senior squad CB’s, who’s most likely to step up as next most promising and able to fill in?
My initial thoughts after reading previous posts was that Binks is next up. Shame as isnt he a decent size and naturally left footed could have been a long term Jan replacement. But if, as it appears, he has left, are any of the others on the same level to step in, or is there a drop off. And are any of them close to being able to step into senior football any time soon?
Tanganga seems to have taken Carter-Vickers place, as he was so highly rated.
I’d seen that Lyons-Foster was also very highly rated as cultured on the ball, but perhaps lacking physicality a bit. The others I wasn’t so sure on. Wonder if Eyoma could become a narrow RB like Davies does at LB.

i don't think so, then again i probably would have said the same thing about tanganga a year ago so you never know.

lyons-foster is certainly nowhere close to being ready, i was(am) a big fan of his but he simply doesn't have the physique to compete yet. walcott has the size but he's still very green in his general play and defending. both are 2+ years away from being considered imo. eyoma is basically where tanganga was a year ago, albeit he's now out on loan, a good player with a good mix of attributes but has stagnated and not really kicked on, he would be the best bet and hopefully he does well at lincoln. my main worry for him would be that he's spent a lot of time at rb so is a bit behind where he should be in his natural position(cb).

Maybe the connection to Henry, if the rumour was Montreal Impact?

David Dein Son has done us up like a kipper here. Probably be at Arsenal in 2 years. Did he actually sign a pro contract ? Presume he must have done but nothing comes up when you search twitter or google.
