Has anybody tried to pick a u23 team for Monday because Jokes aside it is not easy especially in central midfield?

Sounds about right, they should play Rayan Clarke more and one player who could maybe step up to the squad is Chay Cooper,as you know he did not play for the u18s so if he is fit might be good for the bench along with Jeremie Mukendi also if fit.

Just had a thought. With our ability to either sell or get so many players shifted out on loan, it does beg the question why certain players didn't go, who are more than capable. With KWP gone, and no other real RB as a backup, I wonder if Mourinho is potentially looking at Hinds as some sort of emergency back up. I had completely forgot about Smith, but Hinds is either the 2nd or 3rd best RB I've seen in the academy, so ability-wise I'd be more than happy for him to feature in the first team.

He's versatile, is more able to play LB than KWP for example, though he is a lot better at RB, can also play CM, and his natural game is a lot less gung ho, than KWP, so he doesn't necessarily need to temper anything to make him appear a safe option. He is just a lot more steady so I'd imagine more trustworthy.

I struggle to believe no club would have come in for him, or that we would have been against a loan when you consider everyone who's gone out unless there is a good reason, and we have zero RB back up other than Foyth/Sissoko/Dier. I just remembered Tanganga as I typed this, but surely we can't continue to use him as a RB? Has anyone spotted him, or aware if he is training with the first team?

Saw in the ITK thread, that we're looking at Aarons again for next year. I don't expect any miracles from Jose but still think you should test out what you have before signing a new player.

Also, why we've seen a great approach to loans I'm still a bit concerned about the whole keeping the best players in the squad. Just a concern as, if expected, they don't actually get any game time, I don't really see how we're going to get around the stagnation of our top top talents.

However, I suspect Jose is the type of manager where if we do get a decent lead with half hour to go he will be more inclined to give them that half hour appearance rather than 2 minutes at the end

Rayan Clarke Just always seems to be on the bench when others are having a bit of a dip in form you would have thought he would get more game time, also like that he is a aggressive player and he should be playing a lot more than he does.

Makes me wonder again what might of happened to Edwards and onomah if someone else was manager.
For those two specifically?

Probably not much different. They both got loans and I can't see them fitting into a Mourinho team anymore than they did a Poch one.

I think Tanganga is 100% the RB back up that Jose has in mind. Even though he is starting LB at the moment, I think if Aurier was injured, Tanganga would go RB and Sessegnon (or Verts) would go LB.

Cool. Well as long as Jose doesn't expect him to be a marauding FB then tbh he can play RB or LB as he is an excellent defender, and it's just like going out to defend from a CB position. As long as there isn't the pressure for him to get out and create and have to run back into his position then cool. Though I get the impression that if and when he feels comfortable he may support, in the same way he'll carry the ball if he's intercepted it.

Jose has suggested he likes 1 attacking FB and 1 defensive FB, who stays back to make a CB 3, so he is perfect to play the opposite side to either Aurier or Sessgnon. He might not be so comfortable at RB if Aurier was injured and Davies fit LB though.

What do you mean, surely Davies would be the the fullback, and Tanganga would be the CB on the right?

Jose identified Davies as being important to his system of playing with the defensive fullback (3rd CB on attack) plus Davies is shit going forward.

I think Davies is decent going forward. He can pick a pass and doesn't crap himself in attack. He can also cross well. Granted he isn't a bombing full back like Rose but I can't imagine why they'd think Tanganga is better other than that he is quicker. Either way he'll look OK there but as you say he won't look that comfortable trying be the guy that bombs on. But as before I hope they might have a look at Hinds??

he is not that shit going forward. at the start of 17/18 season he created most of the chances in the team but he couldn't retain that form again after injury
