If OG is the man, so be it. Truthfully, I really can't see much of a difference in quality between him and Llorente from last season. Both doing a similar job. Occupying defenders. Winning balls in the air. And every once in a while, pulling off a good pass. And rarer yet, scoring a goal. So, when thinking of it in those terms, then why not?

I see no striker coming. I reckon the Polish fella was due but things changed; JJ was confident, as was Trix. But things change. Hercs intimating in OG thread that not dead in the water. I don’t want to speak in cliches but the hand of history is on our shoulders
Didn't JJ say he was confident when Piatek was already in Berlin? He was filmed going to Berlin last night.

Levy is a genius only he could get people being happy with potentially signing players like balotelli and giroud after almost signing dybala a few months ago lol

My error perhaps. My intimation was more JJ confident of a striker before City; Trix said Piatek was nailed on unless something changed. Obviously ‘stuff’ does change - rapidly. You’re likely “more right” than me as I’m conscious of your knowledge base (no facetious remarks intended )

We’ve also signed Sessegnon, Clarke, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Gedson and Bergwijn in the last 6 months, demonstrating serious investment in the squad for both the immediate and longer term, which sort of takes the edge off a bit.

If we have to sign a bit of a “veteran” as a stop-gap in a position we’re in dire need of, but won’t be when Kane is back - what’s the problem, really?

JJ: We are in talks regarding players currently so if one lands I can say I told you so and if it doesn’t I can get messages saying I got it all wrong. You can’t win either way really. Only good thing is that we are still trying.

JJ was the last positive source, be that ITK or media.

Highly doubt we'll sign anyone else then.

They ain’t good enough. Loads of veterans we can sign if that’s all our aim is.

I like the plural.

He also says: “selling clubs want crazy money for back up strikers - I mean crazy money.“

So I can understand why we are struggling. Don’t want to pay out big bucks for players that might not be that good. Guess that’s what happens when you try and wing it in the last days of the window.

Seller's market with the sheer amount of top clubs looking for Strikers. Looks like we have Barca, United, Chelsea, us, Napoli, Inter all after one.. Newcastle and West Ham too

I'm of the thinking that it's not just the last days of the window, but January window in general. Add to this all and sundry know we need striker as a result of Kane's injury.
