The responses to this!

I saw the pictures and the responses did not dissapoint me... they were exactly how i imagined after thinkign the exact same thing - he looks knackered already but the first thing was that he looks like me a minute after i arrive at the gym.

Sorry, how exactly do people think you improve one’s fitness, by taking a casual stroll? Of fucking course not, you push yourself to the limit, recover properly, and do it again, and over a period of time with a competent training plan your limit gets better and better.

Shocking how many people especially on Twitter would like this guy to fail, only so they can have a sad little “I told you so” moment.

Absolute bollocks. Players should be at full fitness after 2, maximum 3 training sessions. Everyone knows that! In fact professional athletes should never have to do pre-season work, as their natural fitness just carries over to the next season.

It's a really odd mindset. A very British thought process. To see the bad in a situation over the positives and concentrate on it.

Once he sorts his injury blip out I'm confident he'll be a mainstay. Has the attributes to be a top CM.

As long as he has the mentality to go with it.

I'm not convinced theres even an issue with that. He is already a professional footballer? Maybe to take.the next step, but then that can be said.of any player? Not necessarily in terms of fitness...

But I am as frustrated as the next fan that he has picked up injuries and has struggled to nail down a place. But, I'd imagine the player is more frustrated than all of us!

I'm not convinced there is either. But there's enough there for a niggling doubt in the back of my mind.

To be fair to him even though he looked knackered in the training pics the rest of the team in the other pics didn't look much better

I hate to say this but it's been bugging me since we first signed him, I can't help making comparisons between this scenario and the Aurier v Ricardo Pereira comparisons, I remember saying at the time on here when we opted for Aurier over RP that only time will tell who made the better signing when they were both potentially available to us or Leicester, and I think I know who clearly got the better deal.

I was thinking the exact same thing when they opted for Tillemans and we went for Tanguy. Who is going to get the better deal in the long run, us or Leicester, as much I try to avoid it I can't help making comparisons between the two, and Tillemans was on offer for less. They are both similar ages, they both looked really good prospects.
I hope we end up getting the better deal in the long run, but I can't help having my doubts and there's no doubt already that Tillemans has made a great start in his first year in the PL.

The only way Tielemans would be a better deal than Ndombele is if it emerges that the injuries the latter has struggled with is actually career ending. Quality wise, there's no contest. Even if Tielemans is a decent player.
