The issue is, is a younger striker available and what are our "goals" for the rest of this season? You could argue that Cavani would give us a much better shout at challenging for top 4 this season, but he is not a long term solution. However, would that not suffice if he did hit the ground running and shot us into the CL?
Given how many games we play in England would that not be enough to cater for Cavani and Kane?
I would argue we need goals now, Cavani doesn't guarantee it, nobody does, but right now I feel a seasoned pro like Cavani might be a better option for the immediate and then we shop around in the summer or the summer afterwards for a longer term solution (young prospects).
Cavani would give us much better odds of achieving it and the attacking flexibility with a player like him and Kane on the same team would be substantial. The first of two questions is whether or not Jose could create an attacking plan that would allow Kane and Cavani to play as much as they want to play while protecting their bodies from over use. The second is whether the financials could be made to work for all parties.
