Frankly, with the acoustics in the stadium being the incredible feat of engineering they are, even a core of 10k fans willing to sing and make noise spread around the ground should easily make up for 50k tourists and more casual fans.

Just face it, Spurs fans far too rarely made old WHL a fortress, let alone the new ground. The atmosphere was often good when Jol was boss, patchy under Redknapp, and good again the last two WHL seasons with Poch, but the crowd has always been too quick to go completely passive. You can't just blame ticket prices for that.
Turgid brand of football doesn’t help to galvanize any enthusiasm and passion which has fuck all too do with the stadium

Need to start playing a lot better, and consistently.

Do that and its infinitely achievable.

Problem is we're miles away from looking like a good team at the moment.

This. We're 6 points off, which with the amount of games to come is definitely doable.

But we just look so sh*t. We struggled to a home win against the worst side in the league...but we did get 3 points.

Pick things up, and we can get there. But I worry (especially with Harry out) what the catalyst could be the turn the required corner

Fans of other clubs, not so much in England but across the continent/world, make almighty rackets no matter how the team is performing.

But I know in England performance and atmosphere are very much linked. Sadly.

I was at home and I didn't budge an inch when we scored either goal. We are incredibly average at the moment and it's painful to see. That's why there's no atmosphere in the ground.

As to the top four race, I agree its madness that we're still in it, but at the same time it's not. Apart from Liverpool, who are ridiculous this season, everyone else is average to shit, for various reasons. We really do not deserve to be in the CL next season the way we're playing, but if we sign a couple of players before the end of the transfer window, I suspect we could end up there.

If we don't, as things stand, despite the relatively small deficit to Chelsea, there's no chance of us pinching 4th.

I just have to disagree with the notion that there is 'no chance'. In fact, the way people just want to write our season off by saying things like that is giving our players a free pass to swan around and do whatever they want for the rest of the season.

There is every chance and its a case of who can get their shit together and make it happen.

Lo Celso showed last night how to step it up a gear - now we need 3 or 4 others to follow suit.

Before this midweek round, we were 20 points short of our total after the same number of games last season. We had 31 after 23 games, last season we had 51.

Correspondingly, Man City and Chelsea were -8 compared with last season, Man United -10 and Arsenal -15. Liverpool, Leicester and Wolves have of course improved quite a bit.

That shows so clearly how badly all the big boys except Liverpool have underperformed, and why we shouldn't give up just yet.

Well it's the chicken and the egg scenario isn't it? The reason I give us no chance is exactly because they're fucking about. A lot of them know a squad overhaul is imminent, therefore they're just lurking around.

Can anyone really say they are confident of us beating anybody at the moment, home or away?

I don’t get how anyone can watch the way we performed against the bottom team at home last night and think we have a chance of putting a winning run together.

Yeah, I hear you. But that the thing for me. There is a chance, we aren't just unfortunately worse than other teams than Norwich, we are just playing like shit

It's a mix. We have good players that are playing poorly, but we also have some very average players too. Our full backs at present are bang average, despite the odd OK performance from Aurier. Our central midfield is in tatters, with no DM to hold things together, meaning teams can literally just walk through us. We also have no striker at the moment. Add to that our ageing CBs.

So yes whilst we are playing below our potential, our potential isn't as high as some may think. I would dare say Jose thought the squad was better than it is prior to joining too.

Not going to happen this year I suspect.

We haven't improved under Mourinho so far, and he's clearly not going to be allowed to spend much money in the next week or so even though we're lacking in key areas even without injuries.

I just can't see us beating anyone in the top half at the moment, and we've got quite a few of those teams between now and the end of the season.

Somehow we are still within a shout mainly because our main rivals for that 4th spot are about as useless as we are right now. My hope is that we have a lot of places in which we can improve whereas I'm not sure the teams around us do. It will be a massive achievement to get 4th this year and is probably beyond us though.

Can't see us getting more than 60 points. As inconsistent as our challengers have been one of them will make it past 60 points.

Commentary tonight on the Liverpool v Wolves match, “This is so harsh on Wolves but it’s the sign of a championship winning team if they can be under the cosh like this away from home but still come up with a win.”
Spurs are going to win the league lads!!!!

14th place to 5th place separated by just 4 points. Crazy season, the quality has been utter shite outside the top 3. And even Leicester and City have had their brainfart moments too.

So jealous of Wolves playing like that. Really shows up how far we’ve fallen off. Both lost by 1 to Liverpool but couldn’t be more different in approach, confidence and quality. Makes you remember what enjoying watching us play was like. Seems like an age ago

Yeah they play nice football, but they've got the same points as us and we're awful and in transition which says it all. Lloris is back, Davies back soon, lo celso improving every game, Aurier much improved, and tanganga like a new signing. If we can get ndombele match fit, sign a striker and a DM in this window we will have every chance of top 4.
