It definitely seems telling that they would pull him out of the squad, something we haven't even done with Eriksen. Clearly they think there's a reasonable chance he's moving somewhere soon.
It's their business model. They don't stand in the way of a player moving as long as they get a fair fee for him.

They also brought in Alexander Isak as his successor in the summer so they have been preparing for his exit for a while.

Still too much imho. Limited player, that we will get stuck with.

Always doing things on the cheap sadly.

Now timo Werner would inject goals, youth and pace to our team but nah let’s go for some 28 year old who’s a bit of a unit.
Werner wont leave in January. Leipzig are top of the Bundesliga and have no need for money. They wont sell their striker for 50m

Ok so I must have missed the announcement that £50m is the price of everything now.

I need to get a picture framed this weekend, I suppose that’ll be £50m too, then?! (n)

Fuck’s sake. Bloke looks like Brazilian Lee Trundle and I’ve just wasted 5 minutes watching him constantly head it over the bar.

It feels like theres actually something in this rumour , I have to admit it’s ruined my evening , just when I think where going in the right direction we go backwards , there’s no ambition shown at all with a signing like this , his goal scoring record is not one to get excited about , he’s just a slightly younger Llorente , surely we can do better than this . If Brighton or Newcastle went in for WJ I could understand but why build a state of the art stadium with unbelievable training facilities yet we shop at pound land for a New striker ????

Jovic or piatek would be better too.

This guy has 8 goals in 22 games and is 28.

I am so shocked that we are going for him.

You realize that Piatek and Jovic has amassed a total of 5 league goals across 36 games between them this season right?
Willian José isn¨t a household name but he's a striker that's not only a better fit but one who's also delivered consistently over several seasons.

I would have loved a 28 year old Llorente

You know when you can’t even find a YouTube video at all that we’re really scraping the barrel. Danny Rose will be furious.
He's good. He's a strong target man. A Giroud or Diego Costa with a bit of skill.

He's exactly the type of target man Mourinho likes. He'll do the dirty work, contribute with a few goals and create space for Son and Lucas and Dele to score in. And when Kane comes back Willian would be a suitable complement to him that allows us to send Troy out on loan.

Yea but problem is Werner is wanted by teams that don't have Harry Kane as 1st choice and that's our issue we are signing a back up not a first choice. Werner wouldn't be happy being a sub every week and most strikers wouldn't be so have to find someone willing to do that
Yet he might join Liverpool who have 3 world class forwards in front of him.

He'd be competing with Firmino and Origi, not Salah and Mane. He played LW when he was younger but has shown to be far superior as a striker. Anyone buying him to play on the wings would be wasting their money.

He still plays as a left winger quite often for Leipzig. In the last few matches Patrick Schick played as a number 9, Werner from the left, Sabitzer from the right and Nkunku behind Schick.
