It’s kind of hard to imagine that the 8th richest club on earth can’t find a single striker in the world to come do a job for a few months considering the alternative is a 5’6 winger.

We don’t need Pele ffs. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.

Utd, City, Arsenal and Chelsea also have huge wealth and areas to improve but haven't signed anyone.

Mate come on, we’re not asking for asking for prime Ronaldo here. There are at least 4-5 Championship strikers that would improve us at the moment, let alone the rest of Europe.

Sure, but how many of them would join us to be back-up? And most important how many of them will be allowed to leave?

So you want us to buy a Championship striker which will be on a 3 year contract at least. Then in the summer when we want to start gearing the club towards qualifying for the CL we're left with a fucking Championship striker in the squad.

You want us to do the exact opposite of what we should be doing.

Apparently Spurs, champions league runner up, 4 time straight CL qualifier, one of the richest clubs on earth, managed by Jose Mourinho, and possessing potentially the best stadium/training ground combo in Europe cannot dare to have a backup striker.

The tyranny of low expectations from the boardroom and fans will bury this club

Also take into account the likes of Bobby Reid cost £9m. So buying the best Championship players is rarely cheap nowadays anyway.

The fact that our own fans want us to buy low quality players makes me despair.

We need a striker not just any striker a striker just someone that can hold the ball up even vinny Jansen could do that job right now , llorente even him at 35.

Son is suffering Lucas is suffering and us bloody fans are suffering. This system with no forward ain’t working no league goal in 3 games .

even Glenn bloody Murray would be good right now

We have to be realistic and also not buy a player who will hinder us long term in the name of saving our season.

A short loan might not be a bad idea. But the striker needs to be someone who is likely to perform automatically. So a loan for Llorente isn't the worst idea. A 6 month loan for Piatek with possibility to buy is not the worst idea but given the time to settle in we have to accept we might get a huge amount out of him this season.

But what we shouldn't be doing is buying a fucking Championship striker because of the ridiculous notion that anyone is better than what we have right now.

Bayern doesn’t have backup striker. Barca cant find good backup striker. Chelsea this window is also looking for backup striker, cant find any.

SC didn’t Ze Luis, would be surprising that they would want championship striker ?

Also worth noting that Chelsea got Higuain last season and he struggled to make an impact. Thinking just getting anybody will save our season is a complete lack of common sense.

If our interest is genuine then for once we just need to pay up and get a sodding deal done.

Every game we play without a striker is a missed opportunity. As we’ve seen today, the rest of the top 4 contenders can, and will, drop points. We have to be able to capitalise.

The fact we can’t due to having no striker is a direct effect of Poch and Levy’s negligence in previous windows, but the situation is now desperate.

Either pay the damn money or get a loan in.

I’d rather try and sign Troy Deeney!

But we have no strikers. Not one. One is better than having no player at all.
