As I tend to do when someone comes through, I like to take it back. This is one of the first games I remember seeing him, looking back, as I didn't really know who the players were at this point, I wasn't on this forum then I don't think but a mere lurker
(no.5 LCB)

And the following season, this was on here. I remember Spursidol posting it
(no.5 RCB)

Again we wouldn't have known names until I think the following season when we started piecing them together. But still interesting to look at

@IGSpur Just listen to the announcer from the first clip. I think he was no.6, not no.5?

Do you think Japhet's height will limit his potential at cb? To the eye i doubt he is 6 foot tall

It does concern me a bit. But he does have a freakish leap on him and some the greatest CB in history have been under 6ft. He reminds a lot of Paul McGrath who I think was maybe only just 6ft.

Cannavaro is 5”11 I think

there are very few top cb under 6 feet though so he would have to break the mould in the modern era - playing against a big Watford team at the weekend would be a real aerial test i think

Mourinho is also height obsessed which is why I can see him being developed as a RB.

didnt mean to come across as height obsessed :) but i can see him being great at rb long term from a physical as well technical sense especially after last nights performance.

Anthony Georgiou been stealing a living for 6 years now and gets a nice free holiday every year. Quite remarkable really.

And what happened to Kaziah Sterling and his mysterious dead leg ?

pretty sure this is about his contract, i mean jose said as much in one of his recent press conferences.

it's a dangerous game we're playing, parrott could be kane's successor if the stars align but instead we now risk a sancho situation.
It doesn't make sense though, he still has 18 months left on his contract.

Is he? The CB he used most is Carvalho, who he took from Porto to Chelsea and even to Madrid and he is 6ft, same as Tanganga, according to Wiki.
If you look at Liverpool, City, Utd Leicester or the Goons forwards none of them are large lumps who are renowned for their aerial prowess - think he'll be fine as a CB

There will be no problem with Tanganga when it comes to winning balls in the air heading is one of his strong points and if he manages to stay in the starting line-up he is a player that might get two goals a season from corners if the delivery is right, he does attack the ball and will cause a few problems.

if he plays at the weekend he will be given a good test aerially

Despite his height he is known for his aerial presence which says all you need to know about his jump. I've actually been a bit annoyed that they've haven't allowed him to go up for corners and he's the man covering on the halfway line.
