You really think only Spurs fans do that? It'll be nice for every single reply on Spurs social media to not be "Announce Gedson" - Spurs fans really are fucking annoying on Twitter.

Hi guys,
Sorry for my raw english, but i'm portuguese and live currently in Portugal.
Regarding Gédson, what is being said among the portuguese football community is that Benfica made another huge deal once the player never was a firsk pick for the lineup, and never showed (in portuguese league - that places 6 or 7 in europe in terms of quality) the potential that a 65M€ deal option pretends to present.
If you want a middlefielder for quite the same value (around 70/75M€): why don't go for Bruno Fernandes (League MVP for the last 2 seasons).
Just look to João Felix (At Madrid): it was sold by 120M and is struggling to show anything close to this value.
As a huge fan of Spurs (my favourite team in England) hope that Levy wont pay for this guy. This is another deal made by Mourinho and Mendes (his agent) that will be another flop.
The price of the buy option isn't that relevant is it? If he turns out to be worth that kind of money in 18 months we'll pay it, if not we won't pay it.He played only 1,000 mins in the Portuguese league last season. How on Earth is he worth £56m?
Transfer market is just mental these days. And we are doing a poor job of navigating it.
Bit of detective work... I've just re-read the Dragon1 ITK in the ITK part of the forum...
Where it says "we’re in talks with another Portuguese international I can’t say too much but much more experienced than Fernandez and I’m not referring to bf (not silva at milan, not moutinho)" orignally there was a third name in addition to silva and moutinho, which has now been omitted - Renato Sanches. I don't know why it has been omitted.
[Update 8] Dragon1 on Incomings and Outgoings
Who: Dragon 1 Where: FTL When:12/1/20 some stuff from dragon1, some itk some opinion probably I did not know about Fernandez until yest , but it’s def happening (gedson) we’re in talks with another Portuguese international I can’t say too much but much more experienced than Fernandez and I’m...www.spurscommunity.co.uk
When you look at the boxes Renato ticks it makes a lot of sense: Portuguese capped (18 times), Mendes client, age 22, EPL experience (Swansea), plays for Lille, CL experience, AND crucially, won't cost the earth. What's not to like for Levy/José?

The beauty of this deal is how if he is as bad as some say, we can just not take up the option. If he performs then he’s being bedded before the final transfer. Pretty decent on our endHi guys,

Which is exactly the sort of moneyball purchase Levy likes to make.Perhaps the fact he was an utter flop in England and looked unable to play football.
I think after signing several up and coming prospects in recent years who haven’t made the step up, then been hard to shift, the loan policy is a way of mitigating that risk, and no end up lumbered with £3/4/5m pa salary and a non hg squad spot being taken up. Yes, there’s a hit on the loan fee should we not take up the option, but much better than being tied into a contract for several more seasons (and all the overheads associated with that player who still gets the same catering, medical treatment, etc as a first choice player).
It’s been common in Spain and Italy for ages, so I’m not concerned that we’ve adopted this approach.
Everyone's at it because of the ridiculous prices being asked for average footballersIt also seems a lot more Premier League clubs are going down the Loan route this January.
