Had to turn off the Guardian Football weekly, last night. Just so much glee and excitement at Jose losing.

I get he's earned that, but I just don't know why they can't wait for to actually blow up. This wasn't even a terrible performance. Simeone, who they love, basically does this every week. When they started calling Tanganga just a Jose making a point start, I had too much.
Yeah, The Guardian are really relishing in a bit of Jose bashing at the moment- they seem to hate him as much as Joker

From where I'm sitting that was another step in the right direction. Fantastic to see him reverse the fullback set up which I've been craving, initially with Foyth but fair play to Tanganga he's taken his opportunity and allows us to take the risk with Sess at FB who's still a little timid but that will come with time.

I'm gonna get a bit ahead of myself but If we could get a new RB this jan and sell Aurier now then I would. Prepare for next season and trust Tanganga whilst the new guy settles in and if the new guy settles in well then Tanganga can give Sanchez a run for his money. I think although Aurier has improved, I get the feeling he's not going to be with us past the summer and I'd rather act now for the long term.

Also great to see Lamela and Lo Celso play the way they did, it was so refreshing, good positive football and one touch interplay. Obviously against weak opposition but I'd rather risk that than go back to the slog we've seen in recent weeks.

Should also have the added benefit of Gedson, who I believe we're only getting such a cracking deal because of the Jose effect and the contacts he has to know a deal like this was available. The first of many I believe that we use Jose's contacts.

All of these journos hating on Jose will be right back in on him and eating off the palm of his hand if we win something this season and just churning out article and podcast after article and podcast lauding him as the special one.

Going off topic but good god I love that it got the most oscar nominations, that people are scared to admit they fucking know it was fantastic and all their shitty little think pieces went the way most of their writing should; never published.

Never been his biggest fan but he is willing to make adjustments, looks like he learned that Dier isn't good like he was couple of years ago, that Vertonghen got worse, he will give minutes to Tanganga etc. Next step is dropping Eriksen and not relying too much on Dele who is knackered anyway. Once Davies returns, GLC,Lamela, Ndombele get fully fit we could actually be quite good. He won't stay here long, him and Levy are worst possible combo but if he can get us couple of Mendes clients in the next 2 years and improve the likes of Tanganga, Fernandes, Ndombele it will be worth it.
First part of the post yes, 2nd part no, I really don’t think him and levy will bash heads like people keep saying, as Jose has said everything that was promised to him when he signed is the case, he’s a man of principles, I actually think Levy will like a strong character who has a clear vision of what he wants, they’re probably more similar than you think and possibly actually better suited than Levy and the emotional Poch were.

Hopefully Lamela and Lo Celso have started to win José over now they are getting fitter/more acclimatised.

We played some good stuff tonight. What I like about the Argie pair, in addition to their work rate and pressing is that they turn into and attack space (Lamela especially), but with their head up, unlike Moura or to a lesser extent Son. They rarely just take the easy option of playing the ball backwards which I think Eriksen and Winks (albeit more in line with his role) have been doing a bit too much of late. I'd love to see them play in the same side as Ndombele.

I think José has been repaid handsomely for his faith in Tanganga and also Sessegnon seems to be showing various improvements. I think he can be an exciting player once he gains confidence. He's a bit too timid/safe at the moment but the glimpses are there. He has a football brain and I'm sure he'll come good.

On the negative side I bet he can't wait to get Hugo back as Gazzaniga let in another soft low shot today. Teams will start picking up on this. As for Dier, its CB or bust for him now I suspect, just looks so immobile out there these days. Injuries hit hard. Shame as I've always liked him and think he has a strong mentality.

I would honestly love to see some faith in Skipp. Get some activity in midfield again, someone that will at least badger players in midfield and not make it feel like such a void/easy route of passage. Every time he’s played he has at least been quick to close players down, make things just a tad more difficult.

We don’t appear to be signing a defensive midfielder this window, so I think the best we can hope for is installing a midfield that at least offers some sort of resistance to our opponents.

I think we are starting to see more and more signs of Jose getting these players to find some confidence. Sessegnon, Tanganga, Lo Celso, Lamela, Toby, etc. I’m still not sure what the future holds for players like Dier, Vertonghen, Gazzaniga and to a lesser extent Dele. Guess time will tell.

Totally agree with this. Tanganga has repaid him handsomely already. I think it's mad Skipp hasn't even been given a chance.

Whenever he has played he certainly looks to have a cool head on his shoulders and has worked hard.

Only thing I can think is that maybe José wants him going on loan and get regular games. Similar to what we're hearing about Foyth now.

Maybe he didn’t play skipp because he doesn’t want him to get injured before he goes off on loan.

If he’s playing Tanganga but not skipp & parrot would you not say that’s because he doesn’t think they’re quite ready yet? Hopefully they go out on loan if that’s the case as great talents.

I wonder if Parrott is stalling on his contract.

He said of Tanganga “you think I would play him if he didn’t have a contract for next year”

and Parrott who Jose said should sign a new deal now can’t make the bench.

Starting to believe all these reports about Mou wanting another CB and sadly I don't think it's to replace Foyth or Vertonghen. Sanchez gives me so much heartburn and I can only wonder how Mou must feel about him. Against Pool I thought maybe he'd taken a step forward. After that horror show against Boro I'm wondering if it's always going to be a step forward and a step back with Sanchez. I thought he could be properly taught the kind of situational intelligence and composure needed to dominate in the air. It just doesn't seem to be happening. I thought maybe the competition was dragging him down, but I think it's just that he's just a liability in the air, plain and simple, and that liability gets exposed more often against lower level competition. If he can't be relied upon in the middle of a back three to win in the air, then his only role is going to be on the outside of the back three covering the channel and his lack of ball handling ability is unfortunately a big liability in that role as well. I don't think he fits Mou's system and that's a problem.

He plays better with Toby beside him, not Verts.

Toby is quite vocal and marshalls the back line really well. Verts on the other hand is quiet and kind of minds his own business as a defender. Pairing him with Sanchez who's young and still somewhat inexperienced for a CB is definitely one of the reasons we're less organized in the back when they play together.

He's 23 mate, playing in one of the most demanding positions on the pitch. There will always be slight inconsistencies in form at that age as it's a position that demands experience to get consistent performances. I'm sure Mourinho sees his talent.

I don't know what the weather conditions were like at WHL but it was blowing a gale where I live. If it was anything like that I can understand him having a few problems with the flight of the ball. Having said that though, he does sometimes seem to have a few issues in that area.
