Wasn't that. He should have been tighter to him. If you watch it he is caught ball watching completely loses where Firminho is until it's too late. Only slight blip in an an otherwise good performance.

Good players can do that to just about anyone. Aguero has done it for years and still does. Was very impressed with JT though, just as I was in pre season.

Nothing to do with Firminho. He gets caught ball watching and pulls too far across.

I don't think you're getting my point so we will leave it there

Yeah I agree, but it's fractional and he'll learn hopefully. King and VVD weren't made in a game. Great players learn from the mistakes they all make. He'll do worse, and I hope he improves with each setback.

The reason I think he started ahead of Foyth is because Foyth has shown no ability to learn from his errors and keeps making the same rash mistakes over and over again.

He will learn from it. I made that exact point in the first post I made on the subject. Can't understand why people were trying to argue his case. Lol

People will have their opinion as to who was blameworthy for Liverpools goal though I find it laughable to blame Tanganga totally .

The lines man firstly got the decision wrong. Somewhere in all that I believe Alderweireld put in a poor header ( might of been before the throw in) Flimihno is world class and put in a turn that world beat a more experienced player.

I find it laughable that you find it laughable. And who has said he was totally to blame?

I'm guessing it's no one, as I haven't seen any posts as yet saying as such.

I find it funny that you point out one error you found in a game and suddenly everyone's reacting like you've taken a massive shit all over him.

I know, I actually said I thought the rest of his display was solid, and as a young player, I expect the odd blip. That seems to have been completely ignored though for some reason.

I don't get why anyone will go out of their way in highlighting Liverpools goal and partition blame on an academy player making his full debut against probably the best forward line in world football.

The referee failed to get the decision right first.
Firminho movement turn and finish was just class.

End of

In that situation pretty much touch tight. It's basic defending for a CB. Like I say one error in what otherwise was a good performance especially for a debut.
Fair enough. What a forward line to make your debut

Fine I won't loss sleep over it. You've disagreed and agreed with things I've posted in the past especially on Pochettinho.
Because I disagree with you going on n on about Tanganga ball watching some how lead to Liverpool scoring ( he has to learn etc)

Great.

Jose should be great and teaching the art of defending, getting touch tight, keeping concentration Etc.

I suspect there is some middle ground here. Yes there were errors prior to the goal, but Trix is dead on. He lost his man when he should have had his body on Firmino. (there has been quite a bit of that this year) No doubt Firmino had an outstanding turn but he would have struggled far more to make that turn had Japhet been touch tight and in a position to contest the possession as suggested. I would respectfully disagree with Trix that it was a slight blip. It was a major blip as a goal was scored. It is not surprising given he is an academy player on his first start against world class forwards. IMHO, it was a major blip on an outstanding performance all things considered. What i suspect we all can agree on is that at this moment, the future looks quite bright for Japhet
