Playing him tomorrow would be stupid imo.
He looks to be going to Inter.
But he can go anywhere on a free at the end of the season.
So why risk the Inter deal up with a possible injury and lose out on millions?
Because he's been fantastic and we cant beat Middlesborough at home without him?
Makes absolutely no sense to me. If he starts tomorrow I'll be stunned. And disappointed.

Since 2011 Inter's league finishes: 6, 9, 5, 8, 4, 7, 4, 4. Haven't made it out of the UCL Group Stage since 2012.

I know they are having a nice season under Conte, but you've made this big of a fucking stink and your "big" move is to the Italian League? And it's not even Juventus?

Don't really know what he's accomplished here, it made sense when he was holding out for Real or Barca, but is he just so set on leaving that he backed himself into a corner? Apparently he's only getting 100k/week too when we were offering him 200k this summer. I'm confused, is this really what he wanted?

It might not be what he wanted but it's what he's stuck himself with.
And good riddance to it too.
If he'd have actually put some effort in, he could be leaving to a decent team, with good grace from the fans.
As it is, he's dug his own hole.

Inter are rumoured to have a pre-contract agreement with Eriksen. That gives them a lot of negotiating leverage. The only way we can argue a decent price for him is by making it look like he's still of use to us, and therefore playing.

Let this saga be a cautionary tale to other players who find themselves in a similar situation.
He wanted to leave and felt that his next logical destination was either Real or Barca. 'Cos apparently he thought he was good enough to play for them. With time running out on his existing contract, he decided to run it down to a year, in the hope of reducing the transfer price... knowing full well that Levy would be asking for the world and more. However, he didn't want to squander potential opportunities, so he approached each game he played with caution. No matter what, he wasn't going to get injured and compromise his chances at fulfilling his childhood dream. As a result of this, he played like absolute cack for over a year. Seemingly unaware that this would injure his reputation. And therefore reduce the likelihood of Real or Barca coming in for him. He convinced himself they'd see through his malaise and come in for him last summer. He waited. Waited some more. And waited some more. And then the final seconds of the TW came to an end. And that was that. He was stuck at Spurs for at least until January. So now, he and his agent changed tack. How about instead, they run done his contract fully, and then maybe Real or Barca and perhaps now, Juve and PSG too would come-a-calling. All he had to do was sign a preagreement in January. He convinced himself this would be the case. So, again he approached each game with caution and trepidation. Playing even worse than he did the previous year. Yet again, ignorantly oblivious of how this would be perceived by would be benefactors. So, he gets to January. He waits and waits again. This time his agent tells him that there's no chance now that any of the Euro giants signing him. Apparently too many red flags in terms of his behavior and application. In short... he was deemed not good enough. So, what now? He couldn't back down and sign for Spurs again. Surely not. The dye was cast. He had very few options, other than to tell his agent... get me a deal with a second tier team. Just not in the PL. And that, my friends led him to Inter. A team that hadn't been mentioned in the same sentence with his name up until now. A team he never envisaged himself playing for, but now had no other option. He gambled on himself and lost massively. His reputation is pretty much maligned at this point. So, let this be a lesson; don't act like a petulant bitch who's better than everyone else. 'Cos that shit'll eventually bite you on the ass.

The End.

This has to be my biggest complaint with Mourinho so far, why does he keep picking Eriksen? It's fully apparent to everyone that he's fucking off ASAP and yet he keeps getting games, apparently including Boro tomorrow. That has to be absolutely poisonous to dressing room morale, this guy who doesn't give a toss keeps getting picked. How do you feel if you're Lo Celso, Skipp, Dier, and anyone else really.

It boggles the mind, it's not even like he's played well. Sets a terrible precedent and sends an awful message to the squad.
I can only assume it’s putting pressure on levy to buy - he can’t leave him out as he currently can’t play someone else

he evens mentions so much in the interview. We know Lo celso but Mourinho also says that the press from 60mins against Liverpool was always the plan and the fact he brought him and lamella on at the same time to do this clearly shows a thought process

A nice story but that's just wishful thinking really isn't it? I bet in the evenings, after he's retired, as he sits in his multi-million pound pad fingering his bird with the 50 grand titties and the 40 grand minge tightening, he'll often regret leaving Spurs for some poxy second tier team earning around 150k a week or whatever after not much tax and think to himself......."gutted......why didn't I try harder"

Unlikely IMO, very very unlikely.

More likely to be thinking 'Damn you, Vertonghen. Can't believe it cost me £40k to get it back the way it was...'

Yep he's really fucked himself over, at least Toby realised it and admitted a wrong and signed a new contract.

Eriksen has stubbornly had an absolute mare

Just get rid of him, he's been dogshit for 12 months and doesnt want to be here, I only want players who want to play for our club, not people who have no desire when putting on our shirt.

Once again astounded by the lack of respect on here for Internazionale, a club by comparison with whom we pale.

Don’t believe me? Just consider the 80,000 fans he’ll get to entertain in a colosseum which has witness no fewer than 18 domestic titles, the most recent of which came a decade ago, and 3 European Cups/ Champions Leagues- the same amount as our total European trophies (Inter has also won 3 UEFA cups and 7 Coppa Italia).

Then consider that he will live in a city perhaps not as culturally significant to its country as a London is to England, but still a city which is a cultural centre of art and fashion, it’s Duomo one of the grandest, most astounding examples on earth of gothic architecture; a city which enjoys on average far more sunshine and warmth, far less rain; and in a country which, while guilty of its own widespread discrimination issues, has not actively, formally and officially ostracised those born overseas as his current country of residence has during the period in which he’s made this career decision.

Even if one disagrees, anybody failing to understand why Eriksen would see a move to Inter as progression from Spurs, even if less progression than he ideally would have liked, is either being myopic or deliberately obtuse.

I’ve not even mentioned that he might finish the season with a league winners medal...

Spot on.
When he was playing at his best I could understand he wanted to try his luck at RM or Barca. Like Modric, and even Bale.
But I get a feeling he has overplayed his hand. When he stated he wanted a new challenge no one came for him. And hes been shit at playing football ever since.
So now he leaves us with a semi-bad vibe.
(probably) ends up in an ok italian side. (though in a weaker league)
100k a week salary (he would easy got 200k at spurs if hed signed a contract last summer)

Just get some money for him. We are better off without him now.
He will probably realize his mistake and write about it in his book in 10-15 years.
