Note of caution

3 x yellow card accumulation suspensions and 1 x indirect red card suspension. He sounds a bit like Aurier in terms of being a liability.

Edit: PLUS a red card suspension in the Cup.

Son’s record is worse of late

He has a name like a pirate. Don’t care if he’s only got one leg and a hook for a hand, as long as Parrot can play off his shoulder I think we should sign him.

You win the internet sir.

I said elsewhere that if he and Son can alternate their time out through suspension then I'm in favour of signing him.

I support Flamengo and he was really good last season. Vital for us during the Brasileirão (Brazilian League) and Libertadores (South America Champions League).

He is not a proper striker. He is more like an inside forward. What made him so good in Flamengo was the fact Jorge Jesus understood this and made him, Bruno Henrique, Everton Ribeiro swap position regularly during the match, so the opposition was always confused.

His left foot is good but his right foot is terrible. He tends to miss at least 1 or 2 open goals per game. Sometimes people would call him "Gabi-lose-goal" in reference to his nickname "Gabigoal".

In addition, he tends to disappear in big games but also can come with something special from nowhere. He loves to complain and he often gets booked because of that.

Would he be a good bench for Kane ? Maybe. I still think he doesn't have the attitude to play in the Premier League nevermind to be benched.

This guy can be a king in Brazil and I don't think he will settle on the bench.

That reminds me of Richarlison, and I think we could do w a player similar to Richarlison if Gabriel comes.

Yeah not a number nine in the conventional sense but a forward who can interchange. Interesting

We desperately need a forward that can hold the ball up no way can we go the rest of the season with son or Lucas up top . Yesterday showed just how much we missed Kane. Everytime we got the ball forward son and Lucas couldn’t give us that time to build attacks.

Lucas worked his nuts off but did his best work coming back to pick the ball up from midfield. Son was very quiet all game.

In the last five minutes of Copa Libertadoes final, he scored 2 goals including the winner and then got sent off. Incredible stuff. Sign him.

I guess we need hold up as an option, but I actually think “building attacks” is not going to be the right approach for the team we have currently. We need to blitz and hit on the break as quickly as we can.

When we hold up and pass back to consolidate possession, we just allow the opposition defense to set in and then we are not technical enough to break them down.

I didn’t love Son’s position yesterday. I’d have preferred him playing on Gomez’ outside shoulder and the ball going into that channel every time we got it. That’s where the mismatch was and where his skills could be best utilized.

He was so crap in Europe. Really only seems to get it done when he's on home soil.

I've followed Gabigol for a while as I lived in Brazil and I do think it's one of two things.

I believe that he moved to Europe too rushed, to the wrong club and under the wrong conditions. He'd been incredible in Santos' youth teams and got his debut at 16. Had 2 superb seasons, which got European clubs looking at him, then he left mid season during the third for Inter.

I always think its a difficult circumstance for Brazilians to move so young in this moment as they are already half way through their domestic season to then go backwards in to preseason where they have to fit into a new team who are still developing their ideas for the season. So Gabigol was flying and in form, this is then abruptly halted.

Secondly, Inter were an absolute mess in this moment (think they hired and fired De Boer?) and there was so much upheaval at the club. This would have affected his confidence greatly and certainly had him yearning for home (Brazilians love been around ppl so if he started to become isolated it would have really affected him).

Then he is sent off to Lisbon and put in a Benfica team who, again, are not in their best moment and are struggling for form.

So I do think it's very hard to judge his time in Europe. He could have really learnt and grown from the experience and now be ready for the change, or he may genuinely be one of those Brazilians who is just better around his people in his country.

I think we need to stay clear of this guy, he had a lot of hype coming through and I don't think he'll cut it in the PL or outside of Brazil. Tim Vickery (I know he gets things wrong) was not very flattering about him last week, said he's like a spoiled child and he's not really a 9 or 10 and will play best in a front 2

I agree about everything to do with Inter.

That said I think you're majorly exaggerating issues with Benfica. You're either mistaking them for Sporting who do have huge issues, or conflating the fact they came in second rather than first as a big problem.

Benfica remains a huge red flag for me as there's very little reason as to why he shouldn't have had success there. The Portuguese league in general is almost purpose built for players like Barbosa to have success.

Rumour: Inter offering Tottenham Gabigol for Eriksen.

Negotiations between the two clubs begin in earnest over the next couple of days with the goal of quickly finalizing a deal for Eriksen after sounding each other out over what might be possible.

I would be good with that swap deal. Gabigol could flop, of course, but unless a move for Bruno Fernandes was dependent on the Eriksen money, I don’t see us doing any better with the money from an Eriksen sale in January.
