We would've created much more and probably scored if Son and Lucas weren't knackered because of all the running they had to do in the first half. Son normally buries that, but he was just so tired.

Jose introduced Lamela and Lo Celso, who took control of the game, but we had no legs in the final third. Such a frustrating game, especially when their goal shouldn't have stood and Roberts should've got a red card.

Lo Celso and Lamela need to start from now on. No impetus in our game till they came on for the second game running. If Jose cant see that then I despair.

Excellent second half performance. You felt that if Son or Lo Celso converted their chances, Liverpool looked tired enough to make the last 10/15mins very interesting. Cruel not to come away with a point.

Baring Rose and Eriksen, I couldn’t fault any performance

Felt like we had a plan and it almost came off.

On another day we could (should!) have scored a couple.

Liverpool could have been down a man with another ref in charge.

Good debut for the young lad, which is great to see.

Signs of hope I thought. Plenty to work on.

This happens literally every time we play Liverpool. Concede a dumb goal then spend the entire game battering liverpool, only to eventually lose.

We were doing much better after the subs. But it's also the natural order of things that Liverpool would start to protect the lead at some point.
I mean we were still completely outplayed for 75 min - let's not forget that when we summarize this match.

MOTM: Tanganga (...also looked good when he played LB to honest)

That was shit. None of this 'we put up a good fight in the second half' shit. Liverpool were strolling about in 2nd gear while we were shit in every department.

A lot more positives from that than I would have even dreamt of prior to kick off. Think Jose might actually have finally seen something he can build on. 0-1 against the runaway leaders, could have even equalised near the end a few times. Not displeased at all. Okay, maybe Eriksen but I can't be bothered to dig him out anymore. Oh and their goal shouldn't have stood. This is finally the match we can build on defensively. Lamela and Lo Celso gave us some impetus second half and should be starting from now on.

I'm cool with this in the grand scheme of things.

We actually played well 2nd half. As I've said a thousand times, all we need are full backs and a footballing holding midfield player. That is literally it. Would transform this team over night.

Stark difference when Lo Celso and Lamela came on. Both players want to get on the ball and put a tackle in.

He's leaving so why in hell are we playing Eriksen? Come on Jose ffs!

WTF didnt he put Lamela and Lo Celso at half time at least!? They were the two best against Boro in the last game as well. Why the fuck Winks (useless) and Eriksen (uninterested)?! :banghead:

Unlucky not to get something out of that, but I put that on JM who should have seen the issue earlier and gotten LC and EL on much earlier.

Eriksen was absolute garbage and Dele slowed the game down too much, he holds on to the ball for too long. Good second half overall but we were already chasing again.

We looked so much better with lamela and lo celso on the pitch. We should have got a draw there.

Tanganga looked solid I thought.
