saw him LA when the Spurs played Barca preseason. He absolutely torched us and set up numerous opportunities that their youngsters couldn't put away

Think this'll be one to watch.

Seems like Aarons is our no.1 target and if we can't bring him in we may go for Semedo late.

In a perfect world we'd get Semedo in right now and Bogle in the summer.

Sky Germany recently said -

tldr - Confirmed our interest, and we have a good chance of getting him BUT only in the summer

some stuff from dragon1, some itk some opinion probably

we’re in talks with another Portuguese international I can’t say too much but much more experienced than Fernandez and I’m not referring to bf (not silva at milan, not moutinho, not renato sanches)
Also this ITK from today could be refering to him?

Liked him before we fucked up with Pereira/Aurier and was a bit disappointed when he went to Barca. Don't know why he hasn't made it at Barca but I think there's a decent player in there. Remember him as being quick, skillful and a decent defender. Think he'd definitely push Aurier in a way that none of our other options would.

Still so crushing to think back to that choice. Feel like if you have to pinpoint one moment/decision that cast the die for the collapse we’ve experienced, that was the moment.

Could have turned Walker into Ricardo at the very least and possibly (and if we’d have played a little more hardball) Sancho as well.

Instead we got Aurier.

RB remains a glaring issue as does attacking depth. Brutal sliding doors moment that ultimately cost us Kane and Son’s primes

Funny thing is, Aurier has a fairly decent cross on him at times - the chance created for Lo Celso against Liverpool was another one of his specials... and then he goes and does stupid things like miss a perfect opportunity from 12 feet out, or worse, let Bayern in 4-5 times.

Pereira would be preferable to Semedo for my money. Semedo has no end product and you kind need both attack and defence in the modern full back.

Semedo and Pereria are both Mendes clients. Seem like moves for the summer though.

I would LOVE Perreira in the summer.

Still can't believe we couldn't manage to get him yet Leicester could (as soon as looked like Leicester had a chance we should of been straight back in for him!).

I'd get fully behind this if it were to come off.

He's basically the portugese Walker but in a good way. Technically solid, lots of pace, good passing, a level head on his shoulders and defensively solid in all departements.
He'd be our best fullback by far and also one of the best right backs in the league.

Compare to that to Atal that is very exciting when going forwards but physically slight and defensively suspect. He's also an unknown quantity in more ways than one.

My preferred option would be Pereira but it's unlikely even in the summer. However, with Setien now at the helm at Barca I think this ship might've sailed for now as well.

I dont think he is all that good. But I would take him given we cant just play whole season with Aurier.

Barca just sacked Valverde, so I imagine this has a bearing on their transfers

Not necessarily. AFAIK the board bought whoever they wanted and Valverde just accepted it. They might continue doing it that way.

From what I've read and seen he is good defensively but doesn't offer much in attack. Barca fans either say he is amazing or overrated and can't get in the team ahead of Roberto. Apparently he gets in good positions only to turn around and pass it back every time (should fit in fine then lol).
