Gazzaniga 5 - terrible kicking all game.

Aurier 4 - terrible going forward and stupid yellow card.
Toby 3 - cannot defend one on one's anymore. Poor passing.
Vertonghen 3 - see Toby
Sessegeon 4 - did absolutely nothing going forward, poor crossing.

Sissoko 4 - Didn't contribute enough, seems scared to make himself available for the ball.
N’Dombele 7 - Great until he got injured.
Lo Celso 4 - very disappointing.
Eriksen 3 - 2019 Eriksen trademark game.

Moura 2 - Lost the ball every single time. Waste of space and should've been subbed at half time.
Alli 2 - See Moura

Kane 2 - doesn't look like he cares again and lately is in offside position way too much. Two goals disallowed two games a row because of that. He needs a rest anyway so maybe the injury will do him some good and hopefully make him miss playing so much it motivates him again.

Lamela 3 - tried but nothing came off for him.

Jose - 0 - Poch levels of match management here and hasn't been able to change one single problem that we had under Poch. Defending still comical, lack of movement and accurate passing, no plan with the ball. There is no excuse for this shower of shit.
Bet the happy clappers find excuses. ?

truly sad to see so many players that have been so incredible good for us over the years let themselves down with their horrible attitudes and pathetic application. Now that these sort of performances have become expected, I can see it was the squad all along.

All seem right to me. Re: Kane and his offside goals I think the problem here is that Kane lacks pace so has developed the habit of stealing that half a yard to be an effective goalscorer. Now VAR is in existance he can't do it anymore. We are going to see plenty more disallowed like this.

No need to run offside on set pieces like he has done a lot this season though. He isn't that much slower than when he was at his quickest and truth be told he has never been truly fast.

I voted for Dele can't believe the amount of stick he gets on this board from other posters.

Works really hard and scored more premiership goals at the age of 12 then Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets put together.

Also I don't think there is a player I would rather the last ball of the match to fall to then Serge Aurier. His consistent delivery is a ball boys dream.

I just hope young full backs watch him to realise what it takes to become a premiership footballer for a top six club......sod all talent!

That was a truly horrendous watch.

Jose isn't going to work miracles in a few weeks but the lack of collective intensity still remains our biggest problem.

Just feels like the great foundations we had over a year ago have been slowly rotting away.

Painful Rebuild looks accurate now. I laughed it off a few months ago but it's become very evident now.

The team has lost its soul. Its energy, its will to survive. At this level every player has to be alert and up for it. Unfortunately we have too many who want something different, can't be bothered and believe they are better than they actually are. The 'team' has gone and individuals have taken over. That includes Jose. I fear our future.

totally how I feel. This group of players has become utterly rotten on every level. Incredibly hard to see how we keep up with others around us now

Absolute dog turd of a performance.

I'm going to give MOM to Aurier (gasps!). He didn't do anything wrong really until virtually the last kick of the game where he blew a chance to put in a decent cross. BY contrast, just about everybody else was utter garbage for the full 90+.

Gazza 5 - Average at a push.
Aurier 6 - Did OK up til 94th minute.
Toby 4 - Keeps backing off players til they score.
Vertonghen 3 - Awful. Sluggish and disinterested.
Sessegnon 3 - Offered nothing
Sissoko 4 - Huffed and puffed in vain.
Eriksen 5 - Dropped deeper and deeper with no visible improvement.
Ndombele 6- Bright enough until forced off.
(Lo Celso) 5 - Tried but couldn't knit anything together with a disinterested front line.
Moura 4 - Nothing stuck at all.
Kane 3 - Didn't turn up.
Dele 2 - Played as if his only intention was to cough up possession.

I agree with most that we were really poor with a lack of desire from certain players.

However I did think Lo Celso was trying to dictate particularly in the 2nd half. I felt his confidence, commitment, movement, involvement and weight of pass improved from previous displays. I think he could be a good player and hopefully gets a run in the side now

Team average 3.5. Need much more aggression. Give your all for the club and the fans. Players are picking up wages for going through the motions.

GLC was fouled a lot, which probably means he was the one person making Southampton uncomfortable, and therefore the only person aside from TND who maybe emerges with some credit even though nothing he did actually suceeded because everyone around him was utter shit.

That's the most positive spin I can put on anyone's display today.

MOTM None deserved we were awful today, just do not look like a team the balance of the side looks all wrong. A special mention for how awful Ali was today his half hearted flicks were so infuriating today. The team need to re watch this game over and over to get it into their heads what playing as a team with urgency looks like. southampton as with Norwich are not in our league yet made us look bang average. Shit start to the year I really hope levy pulls his finger and wallet out this window as well as biting the bullet and fucking off a few of the squad.

Absolutely turd performance again, and now that a) we've flogged players into the ground over recent weeks and b) teams have worked out that we have counter attacks and nothing else to our game we look clueless. It also seems that, with a manager who has said he is loathe to change things too much and is just going to keep selecting between the same 14-16 players, we're showing signs of just going through the motions and drifting through the season now. There's a lack of tactics, a lack of urgency, a lack of intensity, and a lot of unconvincing football.

Playing Alli and Kane again after they looked dead on their feet the other night was barmy. Now Kane is injured as the cherry on top of a shit day of football.

Gazza - Meh.

Aurier - Lol.

Alderweireld - Decrepit.

Vertonghen - Decrepit.

Sessegnon - Little lost boy.

Sissoko - Back to his headless chicken worst.

Ndombele -

Eriksen - At times demonstrated the only positional and tactical intelligence and anticipation in the whole team, but wasn't a great game and in a cm2 when it's just open bollocks football he's got no chance.

Lo Celso - As I said at half time, maybe this guy can be a good technical player somewhere but at the moment he looks more like a Futsal (or other small pitch/game) player who cannot kick a football properly or further than 5 yards, nor cover any sort of distance. Not convinced the PL, and a team that doesn't play the ultra technical tiki taka style possession ball, is a place he is going to shine.

Moura - Like playing with 10 men.

Alli - Like playing with 9 men.

Kane - Like playing with 8 men. I'd have kept him on, injured Kane couldn't have offered less than the non-injured version.......
