who hasnt given him respect? people were frustrated about his contract situation but I cant recall anyone saying he wasnt a top notch defender.
I’ve seen plenty saying Sanchez is better than him, that he’s been poor this season and that he needs to be moved on from. All of which are rubbish, outside of 2 games he’s been at his best all season.

Spurs news recently has been too great to be true. Awed and buzzing. I had the same reaction when Mourinho was appointed, when both news came through Spurs official app.

Well done!

Maybe people will now give him the respect he’s deserved. Best defender at the club currently, since he arrived and potentially all time at Spurs. Unbelievable player and one of the best centerbacks in the world.
What are you on about? Everyone and their mother absolutely adores Toby and considers him the best defensive player we’ve had and debate him or Ledley.

Anyway, the best defender at the club currently is Davinson Sanchez. The best defender at the club over Toby’s time here has been Jan.

Pleased about this - hopefully Jan signs too now and we can move on from all this 'unsettled team' stuff. Eriksen still likely to go of course but at least only one player rather than 3.

Fantastic news. Frees up the club to sign other players for positions that desperately need upgrading. Can find Toby's replacement a bit later on.

It’s been stated multiple times by multiple people. Poch stuck his neck out for him to Levy. We agreed a new deal then he reneged.

Agreeing a deal verbally and then trying to get more money is standard operating practice for Daniel Levy so I don't know why he'd be offended. Poch clearly wasn't happy about it, but he's gone now so we move on. The new contract is in the club's best interests in my opinion.

You have literally said he’s been terrible this season.

By the way for months I've been reading that players who aren't committed enough to sign a new contract should be left to rot in the reserves. There's no way Toby would've signed a new contract if we'd done that to him.

We all agree Levy is all business yes?

True businessman won’t hold grudges. He basically said the other day he never closes the door or takes things personally

He's even quoted as being open to Poch coming back sometime in the future "In some capacity"

I'm very pleased, not just because I think Toby is crucial for us right now, but also because it finally changes the narrative about all these key players wanting out at Spurs.
