We don't know that for certain. Everyone could see Danny Rose had a ceiling that was 100% the rumoured £55m Chelsea bid, Dier the same at £50m. Dele I stand by is a special talent but Rose and Dier? Are we really saying that we couldn't replace those two more than adequately for the £105m total both were being linked with away?

Sometimes you retain, sometimes you sell. I just feel that there are a few we weren't cute enough with when knowing they'd bring in more financially than they gave us talent wise.

We replaced Walker with Aurier, let that sink in for a second.

Sorry but this is complete hindsight, absolutely no way would selling our first choice full backs in the same window been a good idea, what kind of message would that have sent out to the rest of the players for example?

Lol surprised Mourinho wasn’t wearing an Adidas tracksuit as wasn’t on club business at the time! ;-)

Was just reading this article where he’s saying he’s gonna give four of our young players a start again Bayern - good to hear and in particular look forward to seeing Skipp given a game!

As long as we don’t get dicked (I don’t think we will) this could be a really useful game for him and the players he selects. He’s basically saying to the lot of them go and impress me and you’ll strengthen your case. Hell, he might even find out that some of the younger players respond and take on information better than the older players, with any luck. In that respect it could really help us churn some of the more established players, who need replacing, over.

To be honest mate if that dogshit United side could dick us (in performance at least) then it's highly possible Bayern could too. Just feel like we need to establish a bit of a playing style and identity but I'm not sure we can do that with this current set of players. Still think the centre of midfield is so important, establish strength and dominance in there and we could allow the forward players to flourish more consistently. Every game we go into now I feel like I have no idea how we're going to play. If anything the one thing I would probably bet money on is us starting slow and certainly not on the front foot.

Catching up with the presser, I found Jose's positional references interesting; 9 1/2, double 8, double 6... He says the 10 is vital in the defensive process, but wants Dele to be that 9 1/2 and to carry on scoring goals.

Fascinated to see his lineup today.

Absolutely loving the mentality this guy has in saying the quote below.. The lads will be mental to not wanna win things with him. Hope they can wake up soon and feel how blessed they are..

"You replace one game with another game. I have finished this one, I will get on with the next one. Keep moving, keep going, keep learning and do not accept that the defeat is something empty. Accepting it is a learning process and go on the to the next game. But you cannot replace people.

"I slept [at the training ground] after the Manchester United game. I did not go home. So the next morning at eight o’clock I was in here. Doing what? Burnley… Burnley!

"Analysiing, trying to organise the training session, trying to organise the meeting, choosing the clips to show them in the clearest possible way how Burnley work. That’s the way you have to do it in football – not to accept things in a passive way."

Wow. That sounds different...
Very unique. Dinner was served in the big hall, under the Blue Whale skeleton.

God knows what they were thinking letting our shower in there. I'm keeping an eye on the news for stories about Charles Darwin being defaced with lipstick and wearing a traffic cone on his head.

I’m sure in time Dele will adapt to what Jose wants defensively. If he can do it with Joe Cole I’ve no doubt he can adapt Dele’s game.

I doubt it could be any worse then the first leg result! ???

Now, this is why we've brought him in!

Arrrrrghhhhh This is Sparta!

There's a chip shop in Loughborough called 300 Spartans. Me and the family always wave imaginary swords and shout "We are Sparta!" whenever we drive past it. Fun fact ?

You honestly don't think selling Rose for £55m and Dier for £50m even back then was a great deal to be had? Even without hindsight anyone can see it's a way too inflated price to outright reject.

It would have been good money but would have left the club short.

You don't let go of two of the best players in their respective positions in Europe if you want to challenge, the fallout from the Walker sale was bad enough.

And do you really think we would have adequately replaced them properly? , our behaviour in the transfer market in the last few years hasn't been great.

In hindsight it seems like a good move but at the time it would have out us back even further.
