There were also a couple of occasions where he was played the ball and just failed to react or move to receive it. Not sure if it’s a mental thing or a physical thing and wanted to see some stats on his running and if his numbers are in decline etc.

This is dangerous territory though as you aren’t allowed to say much about Kane.

Were you there or watching a stream? I only ask because some of our passing in the final third yesterday was terrible but didn’t look quite so bad later on tv. It’s all about viewing angles I guess.

Lost count of the number of times Son and Dele passed the ball straight past Kane into touch. Son in particular had a rare off day, where things just didn’t quite come off.

I love Kane, as we all do, and he’s clearly still got the killer instinct. I just think he’s shattered. Mourinho won’t have the intense training regime that Pochettino preferred, so I think we’ll see his alertness picking up as time goes on.

One thing I would say is that ‘beast-mode Kane’ is a bit of a myth. Even in his first few seasons he would mostly wander about at a low pace. There were just brief periods in games where he would step up another level. He was never a ‘full-throttle’ player.

He’s not making the high-paced onslaughts that he’d occasionally do anymore, but I really think that’s a combination of overtraining and age.

Messi just walks about the place too until he gets the ball.

Beast mode Kane is not a myth either. It did happen. It might happen again or it might not. The guy scored more goals in a year than Ronaldo and Messi in 2017.

People need to watch Kane a lot more closely. Hes more than just a goal scorer now compared to 2 seasons ago when he was scoring 8 hatricks.

Hes adapted his game. Hes creating chances now too. The only difference is we aren't quite as good as we were back then. So its not his fault we don't create more chances for him to score.

We lost Walker and suffered mad amount of injuries to Dier, Wanyama, Dembele. The core of our midfield. This will also have affected our system and how we play.

Lay off the guy. Hes the captain now. He's the leader and he's showing it too

Really pleased to register another win and that gap to top 4 is looking a lot better than it did a fortnight ago, but on a note of caution, we can't keep racing into 3-0 leads and shipping in goals in the last 15 mins of games, in that respect it was identical to the Spammers game.

There will be times ahead when we won't have the luxury of being 3-0 up with 15 mins to go, so we simply can't afford to take our foot off the pedal to ship in two late goals otherwise it will start to cost us.
I think this theory will be put to the test severely on Wednesday night.

To end on a positive, it sets things up nicely for the OT game even though I'm expecting a tougher test than the previous games.

Kane was excellent yesterday. Maybe watching on a stream gave a false impression.
looking down from the park lane was surprised to see him sprinting back to our own penalty box when Bournemouth were on the attack MUCH faster than other spurs players. Desperate to stop them scoring. Good to see him so committed, not so good to see Bournemouth passing around us so well.

He cant be everywhere

The stats showed Bournemouth had more attempts and shots on goal than we did and against better sides we won't get away with it, that won't be lost on Jose who will get that sorted eventually but from an attacking perspective I'm loving watching us again.

Lay off him? I haven't criticised him at all.

At least half of their shots were long range speculative efforts though

If you look at the expected goals it shows a better picture 2.9 v 1.1

Agree with your point though that we cant keep getting away with letting the opposition back in it and I'm sure Jose will sort it out (y)

Agree I'm confident we have a manager in place to sort it out so not an issue for too long but already there has been a difference and I'm enjoying watching us again

Kane didn’t score yesterday because I put him in my fantasy team. Apologies.

Maybe you were at the game but our players especially Son and kane were running at top speed and so not connecting is part of that business,But they were all fantastic working with each other and attacking the goal. NDombele is great too. he will lose the ball occasionally because that's also a part of the risk in dribbling. But much rather have that the safe back and forth going nowhere style we just left.
There was great interactions between Son and Dele and NDombele and Aurier and Sissoko. We were starved of our Tottenham football for two seasons.

Just watched goals on Sunday and the set up for 2nd and 3rd goal was actually 325. Aurier is as high as Son. The first goal Kane is CM. There’s certainly a lot of thought going into this.

Aurier is playing almost like a winger, hanging around central on the right flank, Sanchez covering,Sissoko covering,Lots of movement all around and never seen so many through balls
