I do wonder what happened with our Bergwijn interest. Legit reporters in the summer out of Holland as well as Michael Bridge talked of our interest over the summer. Hope we follow through.
Yeah, agree he looks a very exciting talent. He would be a good option for us.

Bruno Fernandes is playing superb right now. 1 goal 1 assist 17 mins in
I'm not his greatest fan but I think he's exactly the kind of player who would be a success under Mourinho.

If you want him to dictate play and be a creative point, I'm not sure he's the best option but as Mourinho wants us to get the ball forward quickly and wants midfielders to get into the box, I think he'd excell at this.

He'd be Mourinhos new Lampard.

is it just me or does anyone think Jose's appointment and Fernandes' new contract go hand in hand?

Increased 20m in fee, we pay that, get the man, Mendes/Sporting/Fernandes gets the increased fee

Was discussed yesterday, its just a pay rise for him, no impact on length of contract or clause (which us irrevelant).

Haaland's scoring record for his age is unbelievable. Exactly the sort of player we should be bringing in

Depends on how Parrott is rated. Big buy, needs to play if you buy him.

Normally yeah probably, now when we have Kane I don't thnk he is for us.

Kane is our first name on the team sheet, but if he gets injured or just needs a game break during busy periods then I'm not comfortable with Son or Moura leading the line. Haaland would definitely get opportunities for us, ahead of Parrott at least.

Can't see him going to a club where he isn't leading the line every week. That's why I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Leipzig when someone buys Timo Werner.

Marcus Thuram
Just want to bump my earlier suggestion in this thread for Marcus Thuram who I thought would be a decent wide forward option under Poch. But I think would be an even better option under Mourinho.

Firstly, a wide forward should not be our priority at all, obviously a DM and RB and probably CB are much more pressing. But for a relatively low cost player who can cover both striker and LW, Thuram would be an excellent shout. I covered him in more detail in my original post but to summarise
  • 22 years old
  • 6'3" He's tall and strong, winning 52% of his headers, this would be useful as Mourinho likes to play long from the back
  • Fast 34.5km/h, for some context Aubameyang's fastest in the bundesliga was 35.4km/h, and the fastest player in the prem last year was Fosu Mensah at 35.32km/h
  • 5 goals, 5 assists in 11 Bundesliga games from striker and wide left

Let's just tie Toby and Jan up to new deals and build the rest of the squad. I'm plenty content with Toby, Jan, Sanchez, Foyth and Tanganga as our CB options. Get in a DM, RB, and WF.

There are plenty more fish in the ocean if Dias is tied up, Toby is past his use by date for mine

Nah, we need some new blood in there and I don’t fully trust Foyth.
