One trophy is 20 years..He definitely sussed our fanbase. I honestly think he could sell sand to the Arabs and make them greatful.
To be fair, they took over a club who went in exactly the wrong direction at the wrong time when the Premier League started. That was more damaging to Spurs than anything ENIC have done since. No amount of league cups could hide it. It’s been a long road back to really solidly being among the elite again. Only trophies are holding us back from conforming our place.

I want ENIC out but you cant deny that bringing in a top 2 manager in the world who collects trophies like crazy is hugely ambitious. Only Pep is as good or better than Mourinho

We didn’t get Pep #ENICout

Still, if City and Liverpool win everything this season there’s no point in having the 3rd best manager in the world who ‘collects trophies’. He has to win them at Spurs or we’re just living off other people’s good times.

This. I don't particularly hate ENIC or Levy but I do want new owners at the club. Just felt clear for a while now we have a ceiling under them and I think silverware is never going to be a priority for them...more a nice to have than a must have. Said before, top 4 and the extra revenue that comes from the CL is their must have....guarantee them that for the next 10 years and no silverware and they'd bite your hand off.

The managerial changes just distract from the situation with them. Whether it's Poch, Mourinho etc, it doesn't really matter imo. Mourinho is not an idiot and I'm sure knows what Levy and ENIC are all about but I think for him it's just the right job at the right time. He'll come in and improve things, rebuild his reputation somewhat and once that is done, will know we have reached a limit under ENIC and will look for a way out although that won't bother ENIC, they'll just move onto the next person. He will do well to last 2 years under them imo.

Truth is even if the likes of Klopp or Guardiola were at us, it wouldn't last long and they'd be hamstrung under ENIC when it comes to actually winning stuff with us maybe apart from an odd FA/League cup here or there. I'm sure both would look to walk out as soon as they it hits home what ENIC and Levy are all about.

Maybe fans from the last 20 years don't appreciate or know how close to the brink we came under Scholar, and how poorly run we were.

As you say, it's taken this long to truly restablish this club financially. I don't think anyone else could have done this, or would have.

The sugar years and the signing of klinsmann, set the club back for decades.
The games is about glory and this side was probably the best side since 87 but the lack of investment (unless you includie building projects) has cost this clubs honours. No one in twenty years will remember finishing in the top 4.
Enic have no hiding place now, Jose won’t sit there like a puppet and tow the company line and some of fanbase are opening calling Enic out,The Enic out banners at Stratford Showed this.

It will be very difficult finding new owners, as I suspect ENIC will be looking for £2bn + to sell up. The Arabs and the Russians, buy a club when its on its arse, City, Chelsea and PSG were a steal and a project. We're the finished article in terms of infrastructure. It's the sustained success on the pitch we're missing.

The signing of Jose is surely to keep up the value of the company. Installing a manger who has won all the major trophies adds huge value to the club. I am convinced it was the fear of the down valuing of the club that led to bringing in such an expensive and volatile figure. Maybe that means they want to sell soon or Perhaps it is to facilitate further financial deals. Winning is not the big goal of Enic; as has been pointed out they failed to back mangers for the final push when in the verge of winning the league.

If all ENIC are interested in is the value of the club why would they not want to push on? It's the only thing that can significantly increase their potential profit now.

The thing is though, for us as fans the only way it's gonna get much better is a takeover by owners of the ilk of Chelsea's or City's.
There's not a queue of these buyers lining up with Levy and Lewis ignoring their calls.
Enic are not going to slash a billion of the asking price for a quick sale because of a few banners at away games.

My point is these banners will achieve absolutely nothing, they're a complete waste of time which don't reflect the feelings of the majority of fans.

We’re releasing an Amazon advert to the world at the end of the season. The José plot twist is in no doubt benefitting as a publicity stunt but that’s only a side-show to his value. I said before I only want him here if he delivers on his promise. ENIC have attempted to buy success with this move after 5 years of attempting to build it. Hopefully the Amazon exposure means they back him in the transfer market in January too.

excatly. Who’s gonna buy the club? Only group I could think of would be an American private equity group and you do not want these scum to buy the club.

For me it is not about remembering the 90s. I fully acknowledge that ENIC have taken us massively forwards since they took over.

The question is more if they are the right people to take us forward from here.

Levy has struggled to get the right setup.

He was fully behind Arnesen then he left for Chelsea. Comolli didn't work out. Redknapp wasn't a long term thinker. He didn't see Poch as a DOF type manager.

Mourinho as head coach and a DOF who can get on board with our financial structure seems a great setup for us. If it doesn't workout then maybe Levy, maybe rather than ENIC, is not the right board to take us forward from where we are now.
Yeah, my 90's comment was more I dig at the amount of time that phrase has been churned out on here of late.
As for Levy/ENIC, this may very well be his last roll of the dice and who knows, in the not too distant future, my view of him may well change.

For now though, I think he/they have done a good job and mistakes not withstanding, have grown the club immensely.
He really does need to grow the transfer system now though and if that means loosening his grip a little and hiring a DoF, then he's got to take that step again and relinquish that little bit of control.
If I remember correctly, we were one of the first English clubs to experiment with that set up, so we not he's not overly averse to it.

Time, and transfer windows, will tell.

Wouldn’t be that exciting tbh anyway he’s only worth a bit more than Lewis.
