He's a better crosser than Rose. He's actually pretty decent it's more that we don't play that type of game where the full backs swing in crosses.
and why's that a perception? Because we don't have the personnel?

we'd take TAA/Robertson from Liverpool in a heartbeat if they were up for it.

How often do you see us swinging in crosses from deep to our forwards? Almost always our players are looking for the cut back and shot. The last crossed goals I can remember us scoring from crosses were alli against Chelsea and Eriksen crossed them,

Close thread- we’re not buying anyone. Nobody is scouting or 'wishing' for players, its just become a shitty rumour mill of a thread with ITK constantly being quoted and we all know ITK outside the transfer forums pisses A&C off
You're such a considerate fellow. OK, seeing as you insist........

We won’t really know what areas we’ll need to strengthen until we see how Jose sets us up and how the players respond to him.

Right now it looks like DM and RB are the biggest weaknesses in the squad, but it’s at least within the realm of possibility that Jose could get a tune out of Dier and Foyth. We’ve all been thinking about CBs and an Eriksen replacement, but who knows, maybe he’ll get Toby and Eriksen on side and they’ll prefer a future at Spurs to the other options available to them in January (this summer would suggest they're not hugely in demand). Or none of those things could come off.

Point is we won’t have a sense of what positions we’ll need to target until we actually see the squad in action under Mourinho.

I don't think it's going to happen, but not sure why anyone would turn their nose up at the idea of Ibrahimovic coming in for the season as long as he's fully aware he's going to play a squad role, like Llorente. He's won everything and would be a great option off the bench, especially in the Champions League.

That could be the issue though. Sure, he might have realized he's not what he was but he probably still wants the Zlatan show. Going to a smaller team/league to be the big fish in the pond.

No chance we get Zlatan and I don't think I would want us to waste money there when there are clearly other priorities in the squad. Personally think Jose will be happy to wait until the summer for transfers (unless we desperately need an upgrade in full back, goalkeeper or DM).

He knows this squad working with him is good enough to get back into the CL and will use that to really push for his key targets in the summer IMO.

But that's what I'm saying, as long as he's fully aware he's coming in to be part of a team, not to be team Zlatan, then I don't see why not ...

Like I said, I don't think it's going to actually happen though.

There are tow positions I can see Jose already wanting to change are RB and GK and they for me will be his summer moves.

I think what we need and could realistically now get are winners.

Bale and Zlatan would completely change our mentality and with Jose there might just be the chance to tempt them.

Yeah I can see Bale. Zlatan I'm not sure about. Would he be worth the impact we'd get from him? How much game time would he really get.

Zlatan can rot in the MLS and Bale would be a lovely asset to have again but his game to injury ratio may be too large a price when Levy would be thinking of wage demands.

I don't see why not. A lot of people said no chance to Mourinho. When these things happen they happen, despite how unlikely people formerly thought they were. I'm not sure he is really needed from a purely footballing perspective, but if Mourinho fancied a bit of him for one final fling then I don't see why it couldn't or shouldn't happen.
