Wonder when he start hearing exactly what it was ‘going on behind the scenes’ that Trippier was talking about
I don't know if there is that much "behind the scenes" that we can't already decipher or assume anyway. I doubt there is very much more to tell than what's already rather obvious although not explicitly explained.

£15m per year, fuck me.
Wanted him from the beginning but never thought DL would get it done.
Im still in shock tbh.

All over social media DL is getting a right shoeing, but fuck it, I think he's played a blinder.

@mods Can he have a proper thread now please?

The fact Jose appointed his backroom team and started working with them, presumably at his own expense, before he’d even found a job anywhere tells you everything about what an absolute badass he is.

He’s burned by his “failure” at Manchester United where he only won three trophies and finished 2nd. The bastard’s coming to slay and I’m here for it.

I’m quite interested to see who he brings onboard. A fresh team could well confirm he has gone away and made the relevant changes to get back on top. I always thought he was a petulant and sulky individual, but during his recent pundit work he comes across as quite humble, articulate and with a very educated view of both the motivational and tactical side of the game.
I was hoping for Allegri, Nagelsman or Rose, but Jose is the man now, so I’m hoping his ego is such that he seriously wants to prove he’s not a spent force, and as such getting us back at the top table would prove that to many. Turning this current shower around to start delivering to their actual ability would be a good start. Few tweaks in Jan, assuming that would have been part of any discussions prior to agreeing, and we’ll hopefully be back on the front foot.
It’s not going to be an instant fix, but I at least expect more effort and structure to start.
I found it hard to get excited or positive about recent games under Poch, a fresh start has renewed my enthusiasm.
On we go. COYS

I’ve posted about it in the club statement - Poch leaves thread. The Athletic have a massive article about what’s been going on behind the scenes and I’ve posted some select paragraphs.

How can anyone not be impressed. Can’t believe we’re actually going to have José Mourinho as our manager. Genuinely one of the best managers in the world. A serial trophy winner.
With this appointment our club is showing true intent, true ambition.
We all want to get to the next level, we now have a manager who can take us there. COYS
Exactly this!! Yes!

You say the club show" true intent true ambition" If that is so then they should have backed Poch a year ago in the transfer market. If they had of done we might have won the CL last year instead of JUST making the final. I think he had to go because he seemed distracted because his hands were tied and the team suffered but where does the real blame lay?
To all you Mourinho lovers..…….and going by the polls you are a very small minority.......be careful what you wish for.
Having said all that COYS !!!!

Everyone knew, including Pochettino, about the financial constraints over the last few years.
Pochettino did well for this club, but he also had a very, very good squad to work with.
Ultimately won us nothing.
We should have won something with this set of players.
To think this isn’t a massive sign of ambition and intent is just being totally blinkered.
Do you want to win trophies or not? We now have a genuine world class proven trophy winner.
How anyone can be negative about this appointment is laughable.

Had to update as "****" could be seen as member abuse, rather than a playful little jibe as intended. I can't be getting banned just as shit is about to hit the fan. All of the nonsense options were added at the request of other posters, I was merely a conduit for the will of Spurs Community.

But, no - I can't extend or update the poll. I tried to, I failed.

I’m going to love how much everyone is going to hate us. I was talking to my brother last night and he said I can’t wait to play Chelsea and listen to what their fans are saying. I replied I can’t wait until we play UTD, Liverpool, City, Arsenal and pretty much everyone else. Bring it on.

When is he likely to have a presser?
Will they just wait for the pre West Ham one?

it’s fine, our general popularity among other premiership club supporters will overcome any negative feeling about Jose.

Don't forget he was fired from his last two jobs with poor results and losing the players respect. In my opinion his winning days are behind him. But it will be interesting to see how he manages for the first time a club with limited spending as he's always been at big clubs with big budgets. My worry is if he can't get the money for the players he want's he will sell a top player to raise the money i.e Kane and Son as he has done before. In fact he has sold some big names in the past even if he doesn't need to raise money like Lukaku (twice), De Bruene and Salah.

So you think that Jose will see the best way to achieve success is to sell our best players, something he's never done before?
You're just looking for things to worry about now, its just daft.

When he sold those players they were young and not being played, they were nowhere near the players they are today (except Lukaku who has somehow got worse)
