Be interesting to see what sort of contract length he'll be given if it is indeed Jose.

If Jose comes in and we start looking solid and finally putting wins together in the league, then the fans will get behind him. He’ll still be a wanker, but he’ll be our wanker.

Not convinced he still has the old magic in him, but then Poch’s spell was clearly broken too so there’s little to lose.

Let’s all get behind the club and the players (even if some don’t deserve it).

I think we're going to see a revitalized Jose at Spurs. It was clear, even when he was hired at UTD, that he was burnt out, and the pressure was immense. Hopefully the time out has been good for him. And maybe he'd genuinely excited about coaching this team. I don't think he would've taken the job if not. Despite what some may want to believe, he still has a reputation as an elite manager. So, if he wanted to, he could wait things out until the summer, when there may be job openings at the likes of PSG, Bayern, Juve, Arse… so, clearly there is something about our situation that he finds appealing.
Spot on.

in terms of our situation I think Jose has always liked a challenge as he has an ego. People say he takes the easy jobs with lots of money but I see it slightly differently

He won the CL with Porto, he at Chelsea saw an opportunity to yes spend big but time also shake up the premier league and win a club it’s first title for 50 years and go down as a legend, at Madrid he took on the Barcelona challenge, at inter he won them a CL, big challenge. At Chelsea 2nd time round it was a challenge to turn them around and he won the league in his first season, at man.u he saw a change to turn around a huge club and he did win 3 trophies and come 2nd with a fairly poor squad to be fair, so I think he makes his moves based on timing and a realistic challenge to win trophies in new challenging or difficult circumstances and at spurs he has an incredible squad with world class players amazing infrastructure and the chance to win us our first trophy for 10+ years mabye first fa cup for 30 years and who knows he may think that sooner or later city and Liverpool will dip and he could have a crack at the title with us if he gets the right backing.

also his family live in London and he loves the premier league and english football.
It really is a good fit for him to be honest and it’s the kind of job he’s been waiting for.

it’s like poch has been playing a slot machine for ages some good wins but no jackpot and then now he’s on a big losing streak, Jose walks into the casino and can play the machine after him and win BIG.

I’m disappointed that Poch has gone but I’m looking forward to seeing what a refreshed Mourinho could do with this team. Seeing what he can get out of Kane and Son, getting Alli back to his best. He may even get a tune out of Dier. You never know, he might persuade some others to stay, really wouldn’t be surprised if Toby did.

Mourinho seems like a short-sighted appointment. Can any of us see a situation where he stays longer than 1.5/2 years? All the while, what kind of toxicity will he spew out there when he (undoubtedly) isn't backed to his liking in the transfer market or bores us all to death all while making the environment at the stadium even more lame?

I would have rather seen us stick with Poch, relieve him of his duties in the summer and actually go for someone that has some sort of medium-to-long term outlook at the club.

But, in the end, I've always found great joy in seeing Mourinho get sacked, so at least this time I get to look forward to it being at the hands of the club I love!

For every cloud, fellas!

And so would everyone else on here.

Because we all know that Mourinho is a far superior manager to Pochettino.

Well Im not agreeing with this. I would be nervous if they were about to hire Allegri though.

Oh its going to be amazing. Like watching Arsenal under George Graham.... oh or Spurs. Jose is the exact opposite of Spurs style of football. The man is also poison. He might win us a domestic cup but he'll leave with a dressing room in disarray and hundreds of millions wasted on shite.

So like he found it?

Did he it say a couple of months back he was going to do things differently next time round?

I'm no fan of his but let's be honest he wins stuff, and the players right now need some of that around the place.

If he can get our big boys back to their best we still have a very good side and there is no way in a million years he will be coming unless he knows he's got some spends in January. I've no doubt the first thing he would address is the fullback and DM situation
Agree it’s obvious we need full backs and a DM then mabye one more winger and we are set for 4-3-3

Countless titles to Poch's none says you are wrong, by a long way. Poch is limited, always was and seemingly always will be. You can't have a system where it doesn't suit the players you have without an option to switch it up. Poch could not see light at the end of the tunnel after the life of the counter-press.
