Laughing stock again. Best manager in years, punching above our weight, on an unfair playing field financially, and one bad season, we pull the trigger.
We will not be able to get a better manager with the finances we would give them, so rinse and repeat with the next manager.

Footballs about money now, we will not be champions, winners, unless we splash millions of pounds in transfers, which we will not do under Levy.
We knew the squad needed to be rebuilt, so why not let the manager rebuild.

My heart maybe talking more than my head, but absolutely heartbroken.
You need a good, hard, slap round the face...pull yourself together man.

No chance Mourinho is standing for mediocre/no players in transfer windows, I'm excited.

Unless he’s agreed to be our manager then you’re getting ahead of yourself. I don’t think he will be for the very reasons you have mentioned.

I have changed my vote and I have indeed given it to Mourinho.

I do this with no great delight. Jose is no doubt one of the greatest managers ever and if we could get Porto or Inter era Mourinho there's no doubt we couldn't possibly do better.

But it's with a heavy heart. One reason I loved the Poch era was we did it without egos without oil slave money - just a young team and manager taking their play and our club to a new level.

So now the deed is done and we have to win trophies - or we've soiled ourselves for nothing.
You know it makes sense Rodders.

he spent plenty at UTD, we wont be spending so what is the point in wasting our time? The man will not walk into this job and say he has a great team.

IF he gets the job and that is a big if in my mind it would be under the understanding that there will be money to spend to satisfy Jose imo.

I went with Erik ten Hag. Think he is a realistic choice, good style of play and probably within Levy's Budget!

Im sure it wouldn't be the first time we as a club will make promises we are not going to keep

I reckon Levy has probably pitched to Jose what he's willing to spend and will spend a decent amount come January to entice him because Levy only goes big guns when we're up shit creak. Same when Harry came in for Ramos in 2009. As soon as we're okay again the chequebook will be mysteriously misplaced. One of the reasons we were able to spend this summer was the well documented prize money from our logic defying champions league run.

I'm just hoping this is further down the line than 'strong contender' if the meetings go tits up as they well could with Daniel and Jose... where does that leave us.

Personally I think we will be going for a manager who is going say that this is a great team who are under performing and doesn't need to make a lot of changes.

It's Mourinho nailed on. Available, no compensation, wants London, prem experience, record of winning etc .We'll be looking for another manager within 2 years when he starts moaning he didn't get the players he wanted/clashes with Levy mind you. Kind of predicable how it will pan out but think it's pretty inevitable he will be our next manager imo.

If it ends up being Eddie fucking howe then we are doomed for all eternity. Pretty much everything is in place to be a major force for years to come and we need a manager who can utilise that.

We need a winner, preferably a serial winner. The next "project" is winning titles and the likes of Eddie howe don't fit in that category.
