And yeah, I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge how utterly amazing he has been for us over the last five years. Sadly though, since Feb of this calendar year, the team has been really out of sorts. That can't be denied. I wish, wish, wish he'd been able to turn it around. But here we are, 14th in the table, and really looking like a pile of crap. Something had to give. I guess it was him.

Well now comes Levy's biggest decision at Spurs.

Hope he gets it right.

Thanks Poch - last four years have been an absolute joy. That last season at WHL an enduring memory.

I reckon Kane has got back from England duty. Things have moved since.
Hate to say it... but I can kinda see your point. If he came back and said something to Levy about wanting to leave if this crap continues, then that could've been the final nail. Then again, I don't think this sort of decision is make impetuously. Levy isn't a complete moron. They've clearly got something lined up in terms of a replacement. If they don't... then, yeah, I think we can all agree that Levy also has to take a slap in the face as well.

He will take all the main coaching staff with him - there isn't an obvious interim manager.

Where’s the loyalty? He dragged us up from the dirt and got us as a CL regular and had us challenging for the CL and EPL, all on a modest budget. We ask for loyalty from players and yet half of us and the board of directors didn’t stick behind Poch when things went a bit wrong? He is the best thing that’s happened to this club in a long, long time and we just sacked him.

in a way I hope there was something going on behind the scenes which made his sacking more necessary, at least that would make sense.

The polls here and FC tweets, kinda showed that he had most of the fans still behind him. Not sure he had the dressing room anymore, 4 players running down their contracts, maybe some have said they'll sign if Poch goes?

Fuck knows now tbh, I suspect it's a decision we may regret

Very cynical move to announce this now. Just after live coverage of the wales game starts on 5 Live and the debate is about to kick off on ITV.

very very planned indeed.

The way I see it - thank you for everything Poch, you revived our club from the dirt. But this is a results game and he was no longer cutting it - he had to go. Right decision by Levy. Big club mentality shown there, we now need to proceed with signing the correct manager and look up and forward to winning things.

I’m sad because of the great times we’ve had but this has been coming for a while.

One part of me craves for the nostalgia of us at our best; he’s one of the reasons my children started following Tottenham and watching match highlights in the dark hours when my youngest wasn’t sleeping made hard times easier for me.

But things have got so bad, and Poch became so stubborn and erratic that it was evidently time for him to go. I’m not going to reverse engineer what my head’s been saying for some time, but my heart is weighted down this evening. However, we need to move on. I just hope Levy has a decent manager in place because we are still a very good side that’s been underperforming.

All the best, Poch

It's called "taking out the trash" in media circles.
