Might be obvious but only just occurred to me and maybe I’m a cynic. But this a fantastic way for Levy to build our overall fan base. There were probably lots of parents and kids that went today that never go to football. I’m sure most were blown away by the stadium and now nagging their parents to go again. There’s a whole new generation of Spurs fans there that in the past may have had no interest in football.

Where to start on this? So many years of plodding along to the Lane for the game, rarely do I go for the experience. The game today was secondary. Would still have loved to beat them yet it wouldn’t have topped the rest of the day. Bringing my 4 year old daughter to the Lane for the first time was emotional, enjoyable and most importantly for an old moaning bastard like me, fun. We got the stickers, face-painting, flags, trip to the shop, saw the mascots (she’s obsessed with Lily Lane, great move inventing her...), appeared on the big screen, met players after for pics and just when we were leaving even had a quick word with @Allygold (now if that doesn’t top off the day nothing will :) ). She screamed ‘come on you Spurs’ throughout the game and is looking forward to going back again and bringing her little sister. Her mum’s going to love all the free afternoons she’s going to be having soon. Cheap as chips. We got chips too, which were actually a little more expensive. A day I will truly remember for the rest of my life. Brought back so many memories of my first trip in ‘86. With all the misery Spurs have brought me since, today they gave me something special. And Isabelle too.

She better had chucked a bottle into the Ashburton Army or the day wasn’t complete.

This is exactly the sort of endorsement regarding taking my daughter along to the women's games, that I was hoping for. My bairn loves Lily too.

Today’s game was obviously good for people with kids - and for many Spurs fans tix at this price will be the only way they can afford to take them to the Lane.

But I think it’s also worth saying that this wasn’t only an event for families.

It was a game worth going to for any Spurs fan - and I’d encourage people without kids to go as well.

I’m a Spurs ST holder (for the men’s team) but this was a chance to go to a game with my non-ST mate and we enjoyed it for football reasons, despite obv the wrong result.

We saw a Spurs team full of commitment, really playing for each other, proper teamwork, well organised and with some obviously well reahearsed moves. And actual pressing!

There was plenty of nice passing and skill, particularly if you like watching players who can rapidly turn their Arsenal defender in one slick move and run down the wing :)

Some proper NLD tackles flying as well - we were good at making recovery tackles and a quick transition to attack, I thought.

We played well in the first half and had chances to score but Arsenal unfortunately were more clinical - and tbh are a stronger team. We looked tired at the end. I had that familiar stress feeling when it was still 0-0 at 60 mins cos I knew it would be harder for us to sustain our game.

They are very well established and are the current league champions, with more quality in their side. Sadly.

Spurs by contrast are newly promoted and only turned fully professional in the summer, when lots of new players came in.

It’s actually hugely impressive how organised and together the team looks on the field given their relative lack of experience and the fact that until a few months ago they were fitting the training in around day jobs.

The team has come up the divisions very rapidly but really didn’t look out of place or overawed in this game.

There was lots to like about the performance and I don’t think we’re anywhere near the ceiling of where this team can go.

Not to mention my pride at us smashing the WSL attendance record with our brilliant Spurs turnout. The 38,262 in there was more than the old WHL could hold.

So I’d say to anyone on here, a WSL fixture at the Lane is well worth the trip. Let’s see all our Spurs teams progress! Men’s team or women’s COYS!

Not sure if it has been mentioned elsewhere, but doesnt it mean that after today we hold the record attendances for both men and women's premier league matches in england?

A lot of Arsenal fans throughout the stadium. Wasn’t sure if that was authorised. No issues though. Peplow was great and her substitution made the difference. Was on a (soft) yellow.

Amoros set the team up in two strong banks of four, the two up top were essentially chasing alone and feeding off scraps for a bit. The discipline was excellent for the first half, certainly.

Yeah they shouted at my mate as she walked in after playing the steel drums. Bizarre group. Balaclava’d up at 3pm on essentially a family day.

They won’t be anywhere to be seen in April.

I wonder how many they could feasibly do a season. I guess it’s only worth it for Arsenal Chelsea West Ham maybe United. I guess it wouldn’t count as one of the 16 non football events as it obviously football. A nicer little earner for levy with food/drink and the shop. I guess the sticking point is not taking the piss with the locals. I guess they might be able to do 3 or 4. But I do wonder how many today just wanted to see the stadium.

Really doubt Levy gives a hoot what the locals think now we've got the permission already. Especially as you can turn it the other way too, it must be great for local businesses.

Walking up towards the ground yesterday, just across the road, my daughter comes out with ‘I hate Arsenal. Daddy, I really hate Arsenal’. Now I was a bit taken aback by this. We haven’t really addressed our rivalry with that lot. I certainly don’t encourage her to hate anything. She didn’t get this from me. I just said ‘I don’t really like them’. But she gets it already.

Did you hear the Spurs poppy memorial was trashed yesterday... Phil not happy, he has people checking cctv as he was told it was the gooners yesterday, phils lot gone mental, Loads of goons coming on phlis page denying it......
If its proven it will go off big time..... Football rivalry and memorials should never mix.

I hope not, Phil was told eyewitness saw them, agree with you, hope it's not true,
He will find out trust me

Ye there’s enough nut bags around London who would do that. If it was them then I imagine it would be resolved internally before April...

The Ashburton twitter denies it.... Hope they are not responsible cos this is serious, not acceptable, like I said whoever is responsible is the scum of the earth and trust me, will pay.
