We won’t sack him now & the hysteria on here is stupid. His first major blip in charge and he will be supported to come through it. Yes the form has been off for a while & playing style needs to change, yes we need to update certain positions but we will support MP as we should.

Edit - hysteria on Twitter not here but still....
I think we've gone past the 'blip' stage considering this has been going on since january.

4 bad months in 5 years, and in a year we reached the CL final.

Unbelievable to see so many people wanting him to go.

We've been progressing every year since he was appointed. A couple of bad months won't change that. He can have a bad season.
He stayed when Real Madrid wanted him and some of you want to repay that faith letting him go after a couple of bad months.
Disagree totally with the progressing every year comment. I get it's hard to judge seasons vs season especially when we went from playing at the old WHL and them Wembley but I haven't seen the progression, for me the team has only got weaker, not just in terms of results but energy levels, tactics and in terms of overall squad depth. I know we will never know the ins and outs of transfers but especially at fullback we have been very negligent in the transfer windows

The guy is just trying to be positive instead of making himself look like he lives on planet ****.

And this kind of stuff is why this (and the other) thread is fast becoming an echo chamber. We see the same tired stuff trotted out almost daily, really, I still don't get why people are still bothering, there's absolutely nothing new any more it's like the magic roundabout on crack.

This is why I want to keep Poch
gets
You what? that's fucking ridiculous, doh, you deluded flange biscuit

You either go with the masses or just don't bother posting because you'll just get ridiculed :D

It’s even worse in the political threads, if you don’t go with the consensus you just get poison in return and so there’s no point posting for lots of people.

In the Poch threads, I think everyone wants Poch to turn things around but there’s people who are convinced he won’t, those who hopes he does and those that have faith in him that he will. I seem to switch between all three groups on a daily/weekly basis, win, draw or lose!

Becoming more and more convinced without Kane he’d have been nothing.
Nah, rubbish. While it was certainly a massive slice of luck, you can weigh that against the fact he’s had to balance the books in transfers for five and a half years.

And yet in 16/17 he had virtually the best player in every position in the PL however that team was assembled cost wise. Kane was best striker, Eriksen most assists, Dele best goal scoring midfielder, best FB, best CB. It’s not exactly like he magicked up a team out of journeymen. Conte beat him with Moses and Alonso as wing backs. Fully believe had you swapped Pochettino and conte in 16/17 we’d have won the league by a mile.

I think some have forgotten the years before Poch
- We had 10 managers in 13 years.
- Only qualified twice for the CL by ending 4th
- Always finished below Arsenal
- Never challenged the league
- We had a relegation fight

Since Poch is our manager
- We challenged the title
- Reached the CL final
- We have qualified to the CL in 3 of his 4 seasons
- Out status in world football has grown exponentially

I'm sure I'm missing several pros and cons, but the progress is unquestionnable.
Yes, we haven't won any title, but you can't deny the excitement of almost winning the league or the CL is much more than wining the League Cup.
I'm aware we have not been playing well for over a year, and right now we are terrible. But in that time we still got to the CL final, and are still in a good position in the current CL.

Don't forget grass isn't always greener. Changing the manager could improve us, but it could also take us in the opposite direction and return us to the state we had before him.

All true mate but we’ve been stale for 12 months and it’s now clear pochs system is build on energy and pressing , once that goes he gets found out tactically

anyone remember who yakster's source is?
Bye Poch
Been told he has accepted this season will be his last
The impression I got was that he accepted it was the beginning of the end. I tried to get more info as to will it be now or end of the season and he said he didn't know but Poch knows this will be his last season with us

Thanks for the find, Dov.

Sprinkled with the usual salt, obviously, this opens up more cans of worms than it doesn't if I am honest.

When has a manager knowingly leaving at the end of the season ever worked out. Even the great Man Utd team slacked off and dropped when they thought Fergie was going. If and it’s a bit if this is true then he needs to go now. We’ve got enough people leaving at the end of the season as it is without the manager being one.

Thanks for passing on the info. If this is true then Levy has truly lost the plot.

Sack him or back him.

If true, then Poch should go now while we can still salvage something from the season.

Honestly can’t see the point in both sides prolonging the agony.

For what it's worth, I spoke to Micky Hazard last night and asked him if Poch would be given time to turn things round and his answer was a definite 'yes'. He also basically said it would cost too much money to pay him off and get someone else in.

Well of course he's saying that. Should he say we would fire him?
