FFS, Jose had one of the biggest budgets in world football at United. Last summer was them first one in years that Poch has not had to balance the books in net spend. It’s like comparing night and day.

I did not compare the managers. It was about that the trophies Jose won at Utd were just crap trophies (unlike the real trophies we are consistently in for). Whatever manager who manages to win the EL and the FA cup for example, would automatically be the most successful manager we've had in long while.

Any manager who, like Jose, gets us into the EL would be the least successful manager we’ve had for many seasons.

irony is people see winning a second tier competition as triumphant and glorious but doing well in a top tier competiton as being empty and hollow.

As I’ve repeated - playing a single game in the EL should be seen as a failure for a club of our ambition. One game = failure.

And we are likely to have to play lots next season and that will be because we have failed this season.

There is another aspect of this which seems to have been ignored. Winning these “second tier” competitions can often be a springboard to cement a winning culture in a club. That’s why the likes of Mourinho take them seriously.

We on the other hand dismiss them and then wonder why we win fuck all.

It’s better to finish 4th or 5th and win the Europa and/or a domestic trophy than it is to finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th, always be 10-20 pts behind the leader and not win anything. Winners are better than nearly men, winners keep their best players, nearly men lose their best players as they want to win things.

Did Tottenham 18/19 lost their best players? Or Liverpool 17/18? Same time they had one of the best transfer windows, without winning any trophy for a long time. For 100% Ndombele/Alisson/Fabinho etc wouldn't come to this clubs if they end up on 5th, won FA Cup not a CL Final and 4th

I will speak out somewhat in support of Pochettino for a second because I believe he has deserved that very much indeed.
When we are looking to the past and distributing proportions of blame for where we are today, if we at all should do that, I find that the pendulum has swung entirely towards Pochettino. This is very unwise. It is clear as day to me that Levy/ENIC has played their part and disappointed yet again. In more plain speaking terms, they've fucked up. I will back Pochettino very much on the question of where it all started.
However, we are where we are, and in light of where we are I do believe Pochettino must leave. He must take full responsibility, But I do believe he must only assume a piece of the blame.

Yeah, there is plenty of blame to go around.

ENIC/Levy are never going to back a manager in the way that Klopp or Guardiola have been backed by Liverpool and City, etc. That is bound to be frustrating for both the manager and the senior players, especially when it's obvious that we are (were?!?!) on the cusp of something very special. Poch may have his faults, particularly his stubbornness, but he's been left with a squad where 4-5 senior professionals are openly signalling that they are leaving the club, and that is primarily the fault of ownership.

Poch has also been his own worst enemy. Playing silly games in the press ("if we win, I will leave...", etc.), allowing that uncertainty to feed through the squad and clearly mismanaging certain players (his treatment of Vertonghen this season - and previously Alderweireld, Trippier, KWP, etc.). His tactical shortcomings are now being fully exposed. It's been happening gradually since January and he's shown that he simply isn't able to fix it - in fact, it's getting worse.

And finally, alot of the players have simply underperformed. I don't care if you disagree with the tactics or the ambition of the club's owners or whatever, there's ZERO excuse not to give your best effort when you are playing for Tottenham. The majority of our lot were out-worked and out-fought by Sheffield United on Saturday. Same has happened against almost every opponent this season, save for Palace and an embarrassingly soft Red Star team. Too many of our players are coming across as entitled, pampered prima donnas with an overinflated opinion of themselves.... Poch has won nothing, but where the fu¢k are their medals?!?! What has Rose, Aurier, Alli, Eriksen, Kane, any of them actually won?

Honestly, I'd love to see the lot of them go - ENIC, Levy, Poch, the players - and be replaced entirely.

Happy for ENIC to cash in on their investment, happy for Poch to go get his dream job in Madrid, happy for our trophy-less players to go to where they think the grass is greener and start again.

I admire your optimism, thinking we're on course to qualify for the EL ahead of any one of Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal, United, Wolves, Bournemouth.

I've seen nothing from us to suggest we'll be finishing ahead of any of those teams.

Also, a club with "our ambition", if it were genuine, would have pulled the trigger on sacking the manager weeks ago.

I am gonna ride out with Poch. He has earned a season to rebuild

Earned ? He earns £8m a year - that’s what he has earned.

Are we convinced the bloke wants to be here ? I’m not looking at his body language ?
we don’t need favours for our £8m, we need results and a positive environment ffs.

He is not doing this all for nothing ! He is not looking after the local kids team to ensure they get a game on a Sunday :stop:

Just thought I'd have a look online at a few polls and the majority of fans want posh to keep his job. The Fighting Cock on Twitter from 1,200 people is 75% keep to 25% sack. On the Evening Standard its 66% keep to 34% sack. Thats only 2 polls but he seems to still have the backing of most of the fans.

I don't know what to say really about that.

I have sat with splinters in my arse for too long..doubts have been there a while now, since I witnessed possibly the worst game ever , at Wembley v Burnley last winter. I thank Poch for giving the club its respectability back and making supporters and the team feel like one. The CL was an enjoyable and exciting distraction last year but to drop Moura and lose in that manner was the biggest anti climax of them all. Its time for a change....

What you can get from that is that people are blinded by the love for the man.
And that people is happy giving him a season to rebuild, even if that means getting no european football.

How low can we sink. Mental!
