Imagine the absolute fear that would go through that squad if Mourinho walked through the door. Half of them would be out surely? Hence why I very much doubt it would happen.

They’re in for Mourinho according to his best mate Duncan castles ☹

I can't really decide whether that'd be a good think or a bad thing. I think they'd struggle to keep him happy with their transfer dealings and when he isn't happy he tends to drag the whole club down like what happened at Madrid, Chelsea (second time) and Utd. If they can keep him happy he'd get them to be less of a shambles I'm sure, but it's a big if IMO.

They've a lot of Arsenal type players haven't they, he may well fail there but if he could get rid of them, unlike at Man Utd where they backed the players over him, then he'd do well.

I'd be surprised if he went there, even more surprised if we hired him because they love their yes men managers and Mourinho is the total opposite of Wenger and emery.

The trouble is if they did decide to back him over the players I think a) would they struggle to shift them? and b) they don't really have the money (or at least, Kroenke doesn't have the desire) to bring in big-money Mourinho-level players to replace them. I think he'd probably struggle with them for the same reasons he'd struggle with us. Ultimately he's the type of manager who wants to come in and say "I'm the special one, these are the players I want, go out and get me them and I'll win you the league" but neither Arsenal nor Spurs have a chairman who will go along with that.

Xhaka stripped off captaincy.

I think he was a poor choice for captaincy early out the gate, however I think Emery has made a terrible choice to strip him off the captaincy and given in to fans being utter ****s. I reckon he'll lose the dressing room.

I'm glad a player finally said fuck off to some of these fans, I'm sick of this attitude of "well I paid good money so I deserve to tell this players wife that I want to stamp on their childs head." If you don't like how much you're being charged for watching dogshit then don't fucking pay. That's your choice, not whether or not to abuse your own players. I'm also sick of people defending it by saying well they're paid good money to be professional and ignore it. They're paid to be professional footballers, there's no single part of that contract that says and here's the part you sign for the wife death threats waiver bonus.

It's obviously a small minority of fans who are that abusive but they're also the loudest and nobody should have to put up with that shit, I think it's a poor choice to not back the player, yeah he could have been more professional but they've basically given the fans the right to act like Ancient Roman crowds and give their thumbs up or thumbs down.

Arsenal fans are worst than most because they've attracted a lot of modern fans because of the team they had in the 2000's and you combine that with AFTV and you have a concoction of dogshit but it isn't just them. It's a large amount of football fans who are fucking entitled as shit and for my money are desperate for their clubs to have success so they can live through it rather than have to make their own. Football fans are meant to be supporters of clubs, through thick and thin and yeah you can moan or not be happy about a situation and not be a happy clapper but you're meant to get behind your team regardless and actually support them not abuse them.

They haven’t handled this well and I suspect it will be the start of things that loses Emery his job at the end of the season. The player should have been kept as captain and integrated back in during away fixtures until he was ready to play in the home games. That’s of course unless the player has had enough and wants the move, which is what I reckon has happened here.

I agree @wrd on you post 100%. Ive been saying since wenger left that their fans don’t have the mentality or faith to stick by a manager or players while they are rebuilding. It’s why we can’t have them qualifying for the champions league again this season, it will just get worse for them the longer they are out of it.

I think for me, Jesse Lingard is the player that epitomises everything I don't like about modern football players and Arsenal fans epitomise everything I don't like about modern football fans.

Not saying it's unique to them, but they're both the absolute classic example of it both things.

This is a blow, Xhaka is a complete liability, will be a shame if the sell him.

Yeah in some ways I think it kind of works in their favour. A lot of Arsenal fans don't think he's part of their best 11 and him getting made captain just made it harder for Emery to leave him on the bench. Now that he's been stripped of that captaincy it makes him much more droppable and the whole carry-on with the fans even more so because they can just say things like "His head's not in the right place" or some shite.

Jamie O'Hara on which manager Arsenal should recruit next:

"What about Eddie Howe?"

Brazil: "he hasn't really won anything"

O'Hara: "He's not going to win anything at Arsenal anyway."

Nice to have a bit of Arsenal trolling for a change.

Rumours in the summer said that Inter were preparing a 40m bid. If they get that sort of money for him then it would be a great deal for them...

That's mad from Inter if true. Like I've said before I struggle to understand what exactly it is that he's supposed to bring to a team. He's relatively hard-working I guess, but he's not particularly good on the ball, not particularly good at passing, not particularly good at shooting, and defensively he's just an absolute liability who can't tackle for shit. He's up there with Aurier for the "Walking Red Card of the Season" award for me. I know 40m isn't a huge amount in the ridiculous market today but there must be better options than Xhaka for a team like Inter surely?
