I weren't really happy about him being deployed on the right, still had a very good game but would prefer to see him in the middle. Same as I don't like when Poch plays Eriksen on the right.

My boi gio what a player he will be. Me and @Hercules called it. The guy has so much vision and ability and creativity and can play wide and drift in or play n.o 8 or 10, will get goals and assists, lovely intelligent player and works hard. Easily going to be my fave spurs player over the next few years, top top signing well done our recruitment team!

well done mate. Great call

Lamela's got two assists from corners this season, having been on the money with the majority.
Indeed it's only Eriksen that can't.

My boy(13) said during the Everton game...."why does Eriksen always stand short on the edge of the 18yard box near the touchline while defending corners. Is it because that's where his all end up"?

Thought he looked great.

Re: the riot when he's on the bench Saturday.
Are pitchforks provided or shall I bring my own?

You can borrow mine once I've finished removing "Flowers" from my head with the one I just grabbed from the garden.

Exactly. Like I said in the Wish-TW-thread we have been needing a RAM/RW for quite some time, and we're hurting because of it. Playing Lo Celso/Eriksen/Son there doesn't make sense. And when Poch won't use Lucas we really only have Lamela/Lo Celso and they're to slow for that position. Makes me wonder if that is why Poch is trying a diamond or 3-5-2 because we don't have the players for 4231.

We badly need a Salah/Mahrez/Silva/Bale quick attacking left footed player. That's why Zieych was on top on my list.

————————Gazza
Foyth —-- Sanchez ———Dier——Davies
—————sissoko ——ndombele
Son—————Lo Celso————Sessegnon
———————Kane

Not perfect but a start and players who actually want to prove themselves and play for the club.
Dele great depth but only through the middle of Kane. No good deeper or out wide

Son left, Lo Celso right and Dele behind Kane. No way on earth RS gets in ahead of those four.

Play him at left back though...

I must’ve misinterpreted your optimistic rating. Apologies.

You had me stumped for a minute there... I must have hit the rating button without noticing, so no apologies necessary.

Anyway, I was thinking more of Eriksen with my original post.

Yeah Eriksens corners, or set piece in general, seem to have dropped off in quality recently.

Good performance and just what the squad needed.

Some people won't like me saying this but I think we also have to credit Poch for waiting for the right time to start him rather than putting him in too soon and perhaps GLC not performing well and starting off on the wrong foot.

I have no doubt now, that if Lamela was fit that Eriksen wouldn't be starting and he was waiting for GLC to be "ready".

Like how he just glides past players. Attracts defenders towards a tackle then just Turns and accelerated out of trouble. When Kane had the opportunity to put him in when we countered first half and he fucked it Gio looked a lot quicker than I thought he was as well. Classy

I'd still start with him on Saturday even if it meant 50 or 60 minutes for him. I'd rather that than hanging around waiting for Eriksen to do something which will almost certainly be the alternative. That way he gets as much time on the pitch as he can manage and gets his match fitness up.
I don't disagree at all, just preparing myself that it's likely he won't start again so quickly.

The only reason he won’t start Saturday is if there’s a risk of a secondary injury, ie muscle strain unrelated to his previous injury.

I would love to see him start but if not, it will be because the medical & coaching staff do not want to over-do him.
Dont forget his lack of pre-season and injury set-back mean he is (probably) nowhere near some of the other players conditioning.
The last thing we want is a groin/hamstring to pull 60 mins into a game when his muscles tire.
