Accidents happen, mistakes happen. It should be overturned and everyone should move on. I’ve a bad feeling they will hang Son out to dry. Now if it was the England captain or Salah or pogba or aguero is Son’s position I suspect they’d be no question of him not getting off.

I think they have to overturn it or surely it sets a precedent. Every time there’s a serious injury it would have to be a red card.

Not necessarily.
There is massive difference between 2 players going in for genuine challenge for the ball and one getting there milliseconds beforehand and receiving injury, and a lunge from behind with zero chance of winning ball causing injury.
If that is how they see Sons challenge, they would be justified that it should be outlawed and uphold it, and it wouldn’t set precedent that every serious injury is red card.

I can't see it being overturned,It wasn't a red ,no way,but nothing will be overturned here, imo.....

Sonny lost his rag after being whacked in the face by Gomes and went after him at full speed, he did the same at Bournemouth after again thinking he was hard done by in an earlier challenge from a Bournemouth player, and again went in abit reckless.

I will be shocked if the pathetic bunch in power have the bollocks to overturn a shocking red in the first place, it was yellow, no more.

As for Aurier.....can we stop all this shit about putting any blame at his door.....he did nothing wrong.....what was he meant to do, predict that Gomes was going to get his leg stuck in the ground and pull out....that would have gone down a treat on here when we are looking for our first away win in nearly a year.

I wonder if the fouls that injured Kanes ankle would have led to a red card with VAR. Clearly not which must mean his ankle wasn't injured enough to warrant a red. Where do they draw the line though? Player limps off so it's only a yellow but if they need a stretcher it's red.

So what level of injury from a trip behind counts as a red - a sore shoulder, a dislocated shoulder, a pulled muscle? And how does the ref know - does he wait to see if the player can come back on the pitch?

Great news. Really wouldn't think serving it has any less form of guilt for Son. He shouldn't even feel so bad even, it was purely an unfortunate accident.

Damage has been done on many fronts, glad that it's been over turned though.
