Heung-min Son was left "broken" by the horrific injury to Andre Gomes caused by his tackle in Tottenham's draw at Everton, according to Ben Davies.

Makes sense and doubt it will just be Son that gets offered it.

And it needs to start off with someone telling him it wasn’t his fault, it was an accident.
I’m sick to the back teeth of hearing on the radio today it was because of his tackle as it wasn’t.
That’s what needs to be drummed into him pretty sharpish.

I don’t think anyone believes it’s his fault.

Anyone that has bothered to find out the facts you mean. Unfortunately, most people will base their judgement on the red card and the tripe they read in the papers. It's why I think we must appeal it to try to clear Sonny's name, otherwise he will always be 'the player who broke Andre Gomes leg' (much like ryan Shawcross situation).

You just can’t help some people.

Have to say we have been extremely fortunate that Everton and also their ex pros have been class and a huge amount of respect for them for that.

Whilst that is true, it can also be said that he let his emotions get the better of him in making the challenge. Similar to his red at the end of last season.

Not that I think it was a red this time, nor that he's to blame for the injury, but it came right after Gomes had swung an arm at him, and it didn't look like he was going for the ball.

I think that if he is getting support then this is what they need to discuss with him, he needs to be honest and say how he felt when making the tackle and then once you drill down into that then get to accepting that it was still an accident that he needs to not blame himself for.

Yes, he was nibbling away at Iwobi's ankles directly before it and seemed to be playing with a bit of rage.

He obviously cares a lot about the game (or the club) at the moment and is getting frustrated by it all - it's very unforgiving at the top for that kind of personality trait, though, and he needs some support in sorting out how to manage the frustration.

Well I dont think aggressive midfield play needs counselling or therapy. What on earth is the world coming to. Roy Keane would be tied up in a mental home if that was the case.

It was not Sonny's direct impact on the ankle that caused it (like Shawcross on Ramsey). It knocked Gomes off balance and the resultant impact with Aurier/the ground caused an unfortunate twist and the dislocation. It was an accident and to suggest that it was deliberate intent is baseless.

It's not "aggressive midfield play". It's the second time in a short space of time that he's lost it after being knocked.

Roy Keane would have benefited - by all accounts he's still a loose cannon now - but it's not comparable; Son is overreacting to frustration and it's no good for him or us as a club if he starts picking up avoidable bans

Good post. Son is our best player atm and we need him back on his feet. He rarely appears to get the rub of the green in most games I watch, but that's probably my bias.

I think that previous incident coupled with the penalty claim turned down perhaps got to him. As a team most things are not going our way and perhaps at times players are just trying to hard. Life always seems much better when the breaks go for you but as a team Spurs need to get through this ... and maybe as supporters we need to support more and criticise less.
