A salient point made here about Ranieri's tenure at Leicester and how the board, despite coming off the back of an unprecedented season, made the bold move to look for a new manager as they could see the decline in a squad that had peaked.

Football is about being progressive and always looking forward, not reminiscing about the time we finished 2nd for the first time since the 60's or how we got to a Champions League final which we ultimately lost. Poch has done a great job overall, that can't be denied, but this continued stay of execution is counter productive for all concerned - players diminishing value, Pochettino's reputation and last but not least, loss of earning potential for the club as it'll take an almighty effort to finish in a Champions League berth now you feel.

Cut the cord.

Make the change.
A Bloody Men! On point!

He has been incredible for us and he has definitely reached the ceiling with us under our current financial model. He knew this himself after the semi final last year and he should have trusted his gut instinct and left.

I dont think Spurs want to sack him either because of the work he has done, so the only way for this to end is for the inevitable to happen which is Ole getting sacked at United who then pay us compensation for Poch.

This works out well for everyone.

I believe the manager and our key players have become bored of not winning anything. Our consistent poor performances started after our shock defeat to Wolves at home last December. That defeat appeared to have destroyed the belief that Spurs could be title contenders.

Not a terrible bench from us, to be fair.

Vorm is only back as a temporary fix.

Foyth, Sessegnon, Lo Celso - happy days.

Dier - needs upgrading.

Winks - take or leave, for me. Yes, I know, and no I don't want a debate about it.

Parrott - top prospect who should be involved with the matchday squad, just like City are doing with Foden.
Would any of our players make their bench? Maybe Lo Celso

Are you seeing any improvement in the first 11 games?

I'm not.

no I'm not, but the only game we have played recently and looked tidy in against a poor team was Red Star, and every poor game we have had this season (August to now) have included Toby, Rose, Aurier, Eriksen, and a very weak midfield, an off form Alli, and an unfit uninterested not fully committed Vertonghen. Ndombele finding the PL a lot tougher, GLC suffering an injury preventing him to get up to speed quicker, and Sess only just being fit enough to make the bench.

I honestly wished Bayern would come in for him, but until we get rid of the players that must be showing commitment in training, but not on the day I don't see any manager in the world changing much, other than substitutions a lot earlier. with Mourinho's history of personally calling players out and having the effect on the squad, I can't see him changing things around other than not playing Eriksen.

Allegri's only real success has been with Juventus, and has never managed out of Italy. with the squad they have in a pretty weak league I would expect you to be able to guide Juve to trophies.

I think the Burnley away game was when this truly hit home, shortly off of the back of losing the Carabao semi. It's the point where our form fell off a cliff.

Totally agree though, it's why parting seems the best option for all parties. Currently its all a bit 'sticking together for the kids'.

Don't want that as it'll mean another decade and a half of nothing but Manure.

Watch the Brighton match again

the Brighton game changed within 3 minutes, and it wasn't Dier at fault. the only difference was yesterday after their tragedy the Everton team raised their game for Gomes, with the crowd behind them. we looked like a heads down team with only a few thousand fans behind us (a week earlier the crowd helped carry us over the line with 10 men v Southampton). with the result against Bayern a few days earlier and that incident we looked like a team that felt sorry for itself.

I know it’d be best for the club financially to let another club come in for him. BUT, I believe it absolutely would be best to sack him. It sends a message to the players and the world of football that we expect success. The financial loss for that statement is worth it in my opinion. It also protects the players from being labeled as the main problem when most would agree that their quality is not our downfall right now.

why are you including last season, and 2 months of no football, yet we looked pretty tidy with no problems in the pre-season

Because last season shows that this is not just a blip in form.

Pre seasons means absolutely nothing either. We won every game under Ramos in his only pre season, smashed Roma 5-0. And then proceeded to take that famous 2 points from 8 games.

Our form since January is relegation form. Everyone used the stat that we accrued the most points in 2017 as a sign we were trending in the right direction and the next step was to do it over the season rather than a year. So people cant only use that stat when it works in your favour and dismiss it when it doesn't.

We haven't won an away game since January. In that time in the league we've played;

Bournemouth
City x2
Liverpool x2
Arsenal
Southampton
Chelsea
Burnley
Leicester
Brighton
Everton

Now, 4 of those are not easy games but failing to best any of Bournemouth, Burnley and Southampton is not what I expect of this Spurs team. Our last away win was a spawny 2-1 v Fulham when we scored with the last kick of the game.

In that time we've also been beaten by:
Palace (A) FA Cup
West Ham (H)
Newcastle (H)
Colchester (A) Lge Cup

If you're ok with that then I admire your loyalty to Poch. But my loyalty is with Spurs.

I know you didn't say this but it feels like it needs to be said. Just because we were "shit in the 90s" doesnt make the current situation acceptable.

What does all that tell you about the mentality of both the manager and players?

A good manager wouldn't have allowed that debacle to continue as it did. But he sat on his hands and stared at the tablet on Jesus Perez lap.

The man is a mad scientist.
He has one thing in his mind and he cant get past it (so far)
He wants to make everyone an uber player
They have to do everything. Its not enough to have them be able to pass, shoot, tackle, press, come back,go forward. He is micro managing them to be little robots.
He is taking away their common sense and instincts. That’s why they are all confused but still adhere to the leader. The ones that rebel get to sit out or leave for Atletico and Poch knows that this is the perfect situation for him because if he goes anywhere else bigger he would have to deal with players that don’t want to listen
Levy doesn’t buy grade A.That fits into Pochs MO as he can control Grade Bs and Grade Cs for the most part

Easy to be critical of his methods now that we are struggling.

By 'micromanaging' and trying to make everyone an 'uber' player he has successfully developed numerous players into full internationals at both here and Southampton (including that 'rebel' at Atletico). The guy was heralded as a miracle worker on SC using these methods up to 6 months ago and now we are struggling he is a 'mad scientist' . Funnily enough I look at what you wrote and you could easily apply the same to Pep Guardiola and his methods.

'The difference between insanity and genius is measured only by success and failure' - Masashi Kishimoto

Players stop responding to even the best managers, just ask Mourinho and Klopp.
