As a boss you should never be mates with your staff. It will only lead to problems.

Levy is mates with Poch.

Poch is mates with his players.

That’s one of the reasons we’re in the position we’re in.

“Then, talking about the game, until then, it was always under control. We were the better team and we’re disappointed because we didn’t score more goals. "

You really have to wonder if he is watching the same game as the rest of us , two attempts on target and he thought we should have scored more goals ???. He is sounding very much like previous managers who have lost the plot but refuse to change the philosophy because they can't admit they are getting it wrong.
10 points behind fourth place it's looking like a return to mid table days unless Chelsea or Leicester start to get some bad patches and we actually start winning some games. The only silverware left this season looks to be the FA cup but on the other hand loads of fans don't want Europa league, so FA cup win and Sunday games or stay mid table and have a Europe free season.

Really? I thought we were comfortably winning until the injury, which changed the game. If not for that we might have had a clean sheet and got a bump in confidence, which still hasn't recovered from the 7-2 I reckon.

Allegri (only achieved success with Juve)
I believe I wouldn't be totally wrong if I suggest that his time managing Cagliari is widely seen as a success, given the club's modest state and budget at the time. Today, Cagliari is in relative terms much more prosperous, but when Allegri took over, it was certainly considered to be in the very bottom of the least valuable teams.

That depends very much on local culture and also the internal culture of the organisation. In a heavily international environment, I doubt that this holds as true.

As an eternal optimist I still hope beyond hope that Poch can turn this around. But the results and performances are grinding me down.

Even though I am not aware of the inner workings of the club, I find it so hard to believe that this is the same man who came in after Sherwood and sorted the shit out and had us playing like winners and gave us pride in our team.

What the actual fuck is going on?

Yours,

A salient point made here about Ranieri's tenure at Leicester and how the board, despite coming off the back of an unprecedented season, made the bold move to look for a new manager as they could see the decline in a squad that had peaked.

Football is about being progressive and always looking forward, not reminiscing about the time we finished 2nd for the first time since the 60's or how we got to a Champions League final which we ultimately lost. Poch has done a great job overall, that can't be denied, but this continued stay of execution is counter productive for all concerned - players diminishing value, Pochettino's reputation and last but not least, loss of earning potential for the club as it'll take an almighty effort to finish in a Champions League berth now you feel.

Cut the cord.

Make the change.

Should have been sacked 2 weeks ago. Levy is negligent and will cost us staying up soon if he doesnt act.

And arsenal are going to sack their manager and we're 4 points off them and people STILL defend poch why we win fuck all tin pot mentality top to bottom at this club

until we can really compete in terms of wages and transfers of the 5 clubs above us in the terms of everything that brings money in, then I can understand how hard it is to win 1 of the 4 trophies on offer.

had Abramovic not taken over Chelsea they would have gone into administration, they started a long time before FFP kicked in, and by the time it did kick in they had built a squad of stars with depth on high wages, and an academy which some players get higher wages than most PL 1st team players.

the same happened with City, but they had to spend a hell of a lot more to get started, but also helped with a 50+k stadium already in place.

we have only just made the step in stadium which will increase revenue but doesn't automatically allow us to go out and refresh the whole squad, or even the 5 that want out. Until we have the chance to replace them with players ready and good enough, then we might have to miss out on CL for 1 season.

and the "we win fuck all", since the start of the PL 27years ago there have been 3 trophies on the table (not including CL) and only around 15 clubs have won a trophy in that time, 5 or 6 of those teams are no longer in the PL.

if you are expecting a team 4 years older (was the youngest and now the 3rd oldest), with 4-5 players wanted out, or wanting out with very few changes in that time, and with problems to 2 of our 3 signings and expecting us to be up there, then you are deluded. At the start, I thought we would be finishing top3, but I have noticed the performances of the wanted/wanting aways and thought GLC and Sess would have been up and running by now.

I even thought VAR would have made a difference and at the moment it's only helped us really in the Man C away game

Get your excuses in early I see

Not getting excuses in. I have been watching professional football live since the 73/74 season, and know that no game should ever be considered a walk-over

I don't think its as simple as that. I think if you're doing the same things over and over again you can lose that edge. It's a perfectly human thing to happen.

It happened to Rodgers, it's happened to Klopp, it'll happen to Pep.

It's why Poch should have adapted things, given the players new ideas. Yet we're hearing players are exhausted or are confused or feeling a lack of change in methods.

he tried to change it, he started using a diamond and it didn't work.

Poch has always had the history of heavy training to give better fitness for the whole season, and later into matches (shouldn't have done it last season).

It is excuses it seems to be a new excuse for pochettino every week, we could be relegated and people would make a excuse it's embarrassing how tinpot this fanbase is, the rest of the waffle you've just put I can't be bothered to go through every point and write a book but at the end of the day we have a squad good enough to win one away game since Fulham in, January we haven't, lampard lost his best player couldn't replace him and now sits double points ahead of us and we still make excuses for the magic Man who I will remind everyone has won NOTHING

I wouldnt say comfortably. Comfortably hasn't been associated with us since 1961

Doesn't the fact that we've reached the point where we are scared of Sheff Utd at home tell you all you need to know?

I didn't say scared, but as I said in one of my posts above, No game is a guarantee and has never been in the history of the game

A club the size of Tottenham with the finances we have should either be winning trophies or at the bare minimum be entertaining, this dead AVB level of dead football is being followed up by winning nothing and being mid table if the club had anything about him he'd be sacked, we mock Woolwich yet they're about to sack Emery with arguably a worse team on paper who's 4 points ahead of your king poch loool

Continues to pick the same under performing players & doesn’t know how to make us solid at the back, Sheffield United should be his last game as I don’t see us beating them !

That’s one of the reasons we’re in the position we’re in.

I heard that Klopp absolutely hates FSG, they haven't spoken for 2 years and don't get me started on his relationship with the players, training 5 times a day, totally ignores them...don't let the fake hugs on camera fool you.

Must be the reason they're doing so well.

I would almost actually rather we lost on Wednesday night now. I certainly won't be that disappointed if we do. Poch has to go. But now we've left it too late to have much hope of Top 4, the best hope of salvaging the season is probably a new manager and some new signings in January helping us win the Europa League.
It’ll be easier for you just to write this season off as transitioning. My disappointment with Pochettino is him not starting the rebuild quicker - injuries might be the season

I'm not making an excuse for Poch, I'm explaining why it is so hard to win a trophy with any manager when they haven't had the backing or riches. if you think a new manager will come in and make us winners with the players that are not playing for Tottenham let alone the manager, then you are wrong. to many players are making errors, Poch doesn't have a control pad that makes them pass quicker, more accurately or even faster. Poch doesn't make the errors on the pitch that cost us goals. what he is at fault for is his team selection and not making substitutions quick enough.

you need to forget about the results from January to May, because if you can't you really need to consider a different sport or a winning team because they can have 25 man squad that won't feel the effects of playing 2 seasons without any real rest, and be able to cope with the injuries we had.

My mates a Baldes fan and text me last night to say “if Kane and Son are out I’m quietly confident we could get something out of the game”
My response was “mate If I was you & the way you are playing even if we play with Kane and Son I’d still be extremely confident of getting a result”
We are hopeless and I can’t see it improving whilst he Insists on playing consistently out of form players.

Is this a thing? I can't remember many (if any) players having a big issue with Klopp and there seems to be a genuine bond between a lot of them. He's a bit of a mentalist and I'm sure he's a right bastard at times, but so was Fergie. Surely if there was a real problem they wouldn't be performing so well for such a sustained period.
