If some of Christian Eriksen’s flatter performances haven’t been all that recognisable to those at Tottenham Hotspur as of late, that hasn’t been the case around Ajax. In fact, some in Holland have even been remarking at how similar the Dane’s displays are to his last season in Amsterdam, when he had already made up his mind to leave.

I think some of our 'wantaway' players might just find out what side their bread is buttered.

I'd be tempted to let him go free in Jan just to save the wages.
.

I've been a big fan of Eriksen and have also given him the benefit of the doubt over lots of flat performances - but I completely agree with you, he's done here.

BUT no way Levy let's him go for nothing - he'll squeeze every penny.

Ah so he’s always been someone who simply does not give a shit when he wants out? But, but, but I thought his look on the pitch was because he was danish and he did care?

Can we just get rid now? Just pay him off and cut him from the team. And just because I am very petty, I make it known why he’s out early. He hasnt shut his mouth about wanting to leave yet rejected moves in the summer, he simply hasnt given a shit since December of last year and it shows on the pitch. The way he has acted it simply unacceptable and he needs to be made an example of.

We’re not getting anything for him, period. Just wages off the books.
Not even fussed about not getting anything for him anymore, just want him out of the squad. Even more so, once reading that he's got form for the sort of behaviour that we've been accusing him of.

How does that work, wouldn't we have to compensate him what we'd owe over the last 6 months anyway?

If we just released him yes. If he found another club and left with mutual agreement then potentially no. He'd get his big signing on fee, plus increased wages 6 months earlier.

Not just that, he clearly doesn't give a fuck anymore and we shouldn't have someone with that attitude around the squad, let alone the first team.

We STILL NEED Eriksen everybody...playing for us

Well in the same sense we still need Messi. Truth is we don't have either. We only have Eriksens shadow, and there's no point persisting with it.

Plenty of others with potential to take his place out there, we should be talking about them now.

Ajax held a testimonial for Eriksen after he left for Spurs. That just shows how important he was to the club leading up to his departure.
Not sure anyone could argue about his form over the last three seasons & it is one of the reasons Spurs have done so well & punched above their weight during the same time period'
I'm not a fan of the way Eriksen is playing at the moment, and agree that he should not be starting games right now. He does, however, deserve our appreciation for what he has accomplished at the club, and the great Dane has provided us fans with some breathtakingly beautiful football in seasons past.
