my concern is he has showed nothing in his short career at Spurs to suggest he is any less rash than Aurier to be honest!
I think he has the same issue I see with Vertonghen an awful lot. He doesn’t move his feet well or position his body weight well when defending one on one sometimes. I’d honestly just put him through a really tough SAQ training regime for a while because I think if he improved on this he could be a superb defender

I think he can play RB but only as a defensive RB. We need attacking, athletic and dynamic fullbacks, they are so key in the modern game.

I just don't see how Foyth would offer much offensively.

I just wonder if we will wait for sessegnon to come back and then revert to a three man defence with Foyth on the right of a back three. Maybe the plan is to go with him, Sanchez, vertonghen/Davies as the centrebacks with sessegnon as the wing back on the left and a new signing as the right wing back. Because I can’t seriously think Poch sees Sessegnon as a left back in a back four. Or sees Foyth as an up and down the flanks right back. He’s always played with one of those, why would he ask Foyth to do a job like that when he doesn’t have all the attributes to?

To play Foyth Sanchez vertonghen sessegnon as a back four really makes little sense to me. It’s so imbalanced.

The only way it could work is if he plays Foyth as an inverted fb and Sess on the overlap, we've done it plenty of times with Davies as the inverted fb and Trippier/Walker as the more advanced fb.

How about Dier in the Dier hybrid role FFS. He needs match fitness!

I know he's had injury and illness issues, but his form has been very bad for a long time now. As I said, he seems well off the pace, and apart from that, I think Foyth is a much more composed footballer with the ball at his feet. Dier's mobility also seems to have deserted him.

I suppose. Presumably that’s when Davies has had Son in front of him though for the pace. We’d have to do it with an attacker giving the width that side and I’m not a fan of sonny on the right.

Missed the game unfortunately, looks like an inexperienced Argentinian team was sent out. Good for us he got 80 or so minutes and should be able to travel back to Spurs fairly early.

I'm warming to the idea of Foyth being our permanent right back we need composed footballers throughout the team. He is pretty good on one on one situation and can actually defend. I think Dier should revert back to CB and should be given a season with Sanchez at the heart of our defence.

Winks has come in for some flack his had one poor game this season against BM and people have slated him which has been totally unfair. Winks is a quality player and potential captain his such a neat player too gets it gives it his performance ie against Arsenal away was a joy to watch he is that man- you hear crap like what does he do. Anyone saying that imo doesn't know football.

What has happened in Poch's view of Foyth?

Played games at right back last season ahead of Trippier and Aurier. Trippier sold. I presume on the basis that Foyth was first choice right back going forward. He hasn't had a look in this season.

He played against Germany and Ecuador for Argentina 3 weeks ago, don't tell me he isn't fit or match fit.

So, two international friendly matches, the second one he only lasted 77 minutes of and he is match fit for the Premier league? You know what our fans are like, if he performs anything less than 100% (Lamala not blocking a cross...) then he is jeered and branded shite. We have a long pre season so players are able to be sharp, not just a couple of friendlies.

I would expect to see him play next week at Everton as he has a full week with the squad.
