which thread does this go in if not here?

dragon1: there will be at least two incomings in Jan and they will both be defenders but not necassirily full backs

Sad need. Need to drastically upgrade our Full Backs for the relegation run in.

David Ornstein in his Monday morning briefing for The Athletic saying he doesn’t believe there will be significant incomings in January...

Efforts to trim what has become a bloated group will resume this winter, however the number of players joining the club is expected to be limited. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has talked of overseeing a “new chapter” and many observers wrongly took that to mean there would be significant spending in January.

There is a feeling around Spurs, though, that the Argentine is more likely to integrate young, hungry players such as Oliver Skipp, Japhet Tanganga and Troy Parrott. This would be similar to what he did when he arrived in 2014 and trusted the likes of Harry Kane, Ryan Mason, Andros Townsend and Nabil Bentaleb, while phasing out more experienced players such as Emmanuel Adebayor and Younes Kaboul.

If that was the plan why waste half the season to implement it?

Interesting wording. 'there will be' as in already done/almost done? Otherwise I'm expecting the "We tried our best, goalposts were moved and deals are notoriously difficult in Jan".

Absolutely chilling that we may “not necessarily” be buying a RB.”

I start supposing that we have the funds only for 3 prospects like Aaron's, Ferguson and I hope Sangaré. And I hope we are not for players like Dybała or Fernandes. I am not against them, but their prices are ridiculously high and they can't solve our problems.

Well this doesn’t bode well when it’s our full backs which are the glaring problem back there.
I imagine it's cause the ones we want are not obtainable until the summer.

If Poch plans to integrate the youth, why wait til January? Do it now!

Dybala is most certainly off the table.

Need another AM to replace Eriksen but I reckon that'll be a summer job.

Quite honestly I'd be fine with this.

We'd all like to see new signings but in the meantime I'd simply like to see Eriksen and Rose dropped completely.

Bring in Tanganga, Parrott and Skipp to be a proper part of the squad.

Eriksen was trash yesterday and for all the talent he may have we would benefit far more by sticking a youngster out there, working hard, doing their best and caring about playing for us than having Eriksen coast around giving zero fucks.

I think getting the players out who don't want to be here is more important than bringing new ones in. That's at the moment under Poch. If we have a new manager by then it will be different.

For those wanting to see what the lad Eze is all about, QPR are live on Sky tonight against Brentford at 7:45. Will be a good opportunity for those of us that have only seen highlights.

Can we change the manager first before we burn all bridges with players that showed they can produce for several years?

I see the need especially in defensive areas (RB, maybe CB and CDM) but honestly believe we have a squad with some talent to produce good results and performances. Maybe we should start integrating our youth and summer signings first.
If Poch is no more there maybe Toby and Verts have a future here if they can find their form again. And we still have some prospects like Foyth and Japhet in the squad who can't even get a look in the squad mostly.

Yeah all well and good getting young malleable players for another 5 year project but are the likes of Kane and Son going to hang around for that?

Why is everyone so certain Dybala is now a no go??
(1) he's found a place in Sarri's team
(2) his price if going up
(3) he didn't want to go unless forced out
(4) we are in such a mess now he'll unlikely choose us

Most important - in my opinion we have more burning positions than secondary striker. I'd rather spend that money on world class DM

"Real Madrid are looking to sell right-back Alvaro Odriozola, who coach Zinedine Zidane believes doesn’t fit into his plans (Mundo Deportivo)"

Could do a lot worse for a right back replacement
