Tbh £1.2bn seems to be a pretty well used figure now. Levy admitted himself was over £1bn. Although if true considering loan facility is £630m would mean ENIC have already paid circa £500m. The last figure I saw they’d paid was £350-400m but that was a while ago so £500m is feasible.
ENIC haven't paid anything. Their subsidiary THFC is bearing all the costs. ENIC is just sitting pretty, ready to reap the rewards as and when they come.
It's the way of the world, but let's not give them credit where none's due.

Joe lewis personally put in £50m towards the build. Taverstock (lewis other company) helped secure the loans.

Are you kidding ? Do you see any other PL team building a £1.2bn stadium. If it was that easy everyone would be doing it.

Skywalk to open next summer. Also confirmed all NFL catering went directly to club. Also when hotel was mentioned a timescale of months was mentioned which surprises me. From trust meeting.

  • Detailed designs are being worked on for the Hotel and this will take a number of months to work through

I read as the detailed designs will take months to complete, not the actual building completion.

Obviously. But personally thought we’d be talking years before we even saw a design. The Sky bar is interesting, surely PR wise you’d think it’s something they would have liked to show case by now. You’d think it would have been fitted out by now. Maybe they just don’t know what to do with it. Or they’ve realised a bit of wind makes it totally uninhabitable lol.

What's the bet it comes down?

Even if it’s not fit for original intended purpose I’m sure they’d find some use for it. Definitely more hassle to take it down than just leave it there. I remember those walkway beams being put in place were enormous and it’s all connected into the roof.

Sky bar was always a bit of a gimmick, don't think the intention was ever to use it to watch a match thought they were going to use it for pre match meal or drinks. To take it down would mean removing roof sections etc. can't see that happening . When they put those walkways in they needed one the largest mobile cranes available so to remove it all would probably be uneconomical.

Maybe they could create a CinemaScope Screen, it'd be bugger all use to anyone in North stand but I'm in the South stand so I'd be fine. :)

The Labour Party have just confirmed that they'll remove the ban on persistent standing at football from next season if they enter government.

As far as I can see there is no actual ban , perhaps they mean that they are going allow safe standing areas as future proofed by Spurs.

  • Ever since the introduction of all-seater stadia, many supporters have continued to stand in front of their seats, often for the duration of the game.
  • It is widely believed that this practice is illegal. This is not the case, even within Premier League and Championship grounds. The law only provides that these clubs should provide seats for all supporters, not that supporters must sit on them.
  • The point is confirmed by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport: ‘At no point has it been argued that the individual spectator commits a criminal offence by standing in a seated area’ (Source: Letter to Football Supporters’ Federation, 2008)
  • Standing in seated areas, is, however, contrary to ground regulations. For example, the Football League’s model set of ground regulations states: ‘Nobody may stand in any seating area whilst play is in progress. Persistent standing in seated areas whilst play is in progress is strictly forbidden and may result in ejection from the ground’.
There may have been some legal addition since 2008 but can't find anything.

Are the ground regulations not set as a requirement for a license by the local authority?
If the Labour party are saying they will support safe standing I have to believe it will be with caveats such as the provision of standing rails like we have at our ground.

Ground regs. on standing may well be part of granting a license by a local authority but can't remember any stand at any PL ground ever being shut because of standing and standing at virtually all PL stadiums happens every week. It's like a lot regulations just not enforced.

Is it possible to meet away fans you know out of interest by walking round the stadium?

My old Greek flatmate will be in the away section so would be good to meet him before. If not in the stadium, which pub is best?

No you cannot meet up with someone in the away end once your in the ground

Depends where your coming from. Walking down from Seven Sisters about half way just before McDonalds is The Beehive which is very decent
