some decent moments on the ball but was too easily beaten for the first goal and very poor in dealing with the 2nd.

he deserved a couple of assists, inch perfect through balls, but was let down by the finishing
should have had one himself

you're under-playing the very good things he did that could well have decided the contest

His defensive awareness is his weakness, it was for Lyon too.

Obviously he needs to get fitter too so he can play with full intensity for 90 minutes.

I think many people (not here but general football fans) had a very incorrect assumption of what type of player he is. People seem to think because he's intimidating and strong looking that he is a defensive powerhouse who is decent on the ball.

He is actually a very technical, skillful pass master who breaks lines and dictates play. He can tackle, he can intercept but he needs to play alongside a DM if we want to see the best of him.

He’s a major asset. He sees balls that others can’t. Son should have scored from the first one.

Finally got around to watching the game. I can’t remember the last player we had capable of playing those types of through balls that he played in the opening 30.

Eriksen for all the good that he does is more of a metronome. VDV operated a bit more in the final third. Modric was very good at those although more so in terms of opening play - Kane is also very good st this surprisingly.

But in terms of laying it on a platter. Those were breathtaking gasping passes.

Yeah and Son missed quite a bit. Ndombele too had a chance. Margins

Brilliant going forwward, the complete opposite when it comes to defending, not sure whether its lack of understanding, laziness or sheer lack of fitness. Its a personal shambles for a footballer at this level to be so unfit at this stage of the season, he must have showed up at Spurs in pretty poor nick, very unprofessional.

Apparently he nearly didn’t make it as a pro due to his conditioning / weight. He’s one of those players who will balloon once he stops playing. I don’t think we’ll see the best of him for quite some time, maybe even next season.

Thought his work rate off the ball was shocking. In terms of chasing and closing down, looked like he was there for a half hearted kick about at the park. On the ball, clear the guy has ability but can't get away with the lack of work rate off it.

No excuse for a lack of mobility/fitness as a 22 year old professional athlete.

Massive shame as there is clearly talent there but seems another player who doesn't have the desire to achieve the most out of his career.

Still time to change it around but he won't ever be a top premiership midfielder with his current mobility/fitness

He reminds me of when Adam Jones was starting out for Wales as a prop.

So hideously out of shape they’d sub him off after 30 minutes
