Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham's 7-2 thrashing by Bayern Munich is "so difficult to accept" but urged for "calm" and "no rush analysis" in the immediate aftermath of the defeat.

I say Aurier playing at right back (or even in or near the 1st eleven) is 'so difficult to accept' any more
He doesn't have a football brain

Whilst I agree, I don't think he is really a right back. He was brought in to replace Walker, who was far more of an attacking wing back than right back. Suddenly he is expeceted to be a disaplined right back in a back four with no cover from midfield? Doesn't seem correct to me. Poch is at fault for asking him to play there. I don't want to see Winks given the role of defensive midfielder anymore either. And I don't want to see a fucking diamond formation when we don't have the players to play it.

We have the players to either play three at the back with wingbacks or play at least 1 proper defensive midfielder and two wide players. Do we play it though? Not any more...

Walker could defend. Aurier is a defender , he needs to defend first.

He could. Not his biggest strength but yes, he could. I bet there are over 1000 posts on here about Walker fuck ups- yet we sold him and spent only half the money on a replacement. I am not defending Aurier (if he can't be bothered wy should I?) but the blame ALSO rests with the people that recruited him.

It can’t be as simplistic as this, but Alderwiereld, Rose and Aurier were all expected to leave the club this summer and Vertonghen is in the last year of his contract, simultaneously our water tight defence of the last four years has become porous.

Must just be coincidence.

Hey you guys; don't forget that we received a healthy £70 million by selling our two right fullbacks; it appears that we can't just plug in another squad-body to replace them; maybe time spend some money Daniel?

He would have spoken to Poch about kwp and serge. A right back was never linked over summer even though cash was available.
