"Maybe our performances are good" :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D I think he's on a wind-up by now. We've just lost to a League 2 side without forcing a single decent save. In the rest of the interview, he blames "time we lost in pre-season" (huh? That's the excuse when there's been a tournament mate!), and suggests he needs a transfer windows to fix things after not fixing things in the last several. I seriously want some of whatever he's been smoking.

Davies and KWP were fucking awful just to throw some random names under the bus, they were both shit.

Now we know why poch played sanchez over KWP at RB. He hasn't got what it takes to play at our required level.

It wouldn't surprise me if Poch handed in his notice. He seems an honourable man, and he may feel he's taken us as far as he can. I just can't be doing with another 15 years of transition with 12 managers trying to find the right fit!

I’ll say it. I want Mourinho. He’s a winner. He’s what we need. If he comes and I’m wrong then I’ll hold my hands up and say I got it wrong but he’s the best replacement we could seriously get.

Edit: who do the disagrees want then when Poch goes?
Oh fuck yes! Mourinho with a team already mentally weak. You wanna see a complete shit show? Bring him in!

feel sorry for Parrot and Tanganga. Should have been a great night for them.

Agree.

Also feel sorry for Lamela who is finally fit and firing and no one else is coming for the ride he missed out (yet totally bought into) i those earlier Poch seasons.

So are we saying that Poch wanted us to be totally embarrassed and get knocked out tonight so he picked a shit team and told them not to try - or did he take it seriously and pick a strong team that he thought would win?

For me the issue is that he didn't foresee the problems that such a selection would present. He's struggling to get us playing good football with our best players out on the pitch. I'm not quite sure how he wouldn't see such a performance coming with that selection,

Do you really think Jose would come here and work under ENIC with all their shenanigans?

I think he would, for a very handsome price, not that I want anywhere near our club, but who else is out there that would up sticks and come to us?

I’d take Mourinho in a heartbeat.

He’s a bell end, but he’s a bell end who wins things, and he’s unapologetic about it.

Realistically you’ll get three years out of him if you’re lucky, but I’d take him. United fans only hate him because their sense of entitlement tells them they deserved more trophies than he won for them.

The comments in the twitter feed are bad. A lot seem like they're losing patience with him

The only thing we can do as supporters now, regardless of my own personal nagging feeling that he has lost them and we will probably end up making a change at some point, is to get massively behind the Manager and the team on Saturday.

I'm talking a mass show of love and a huge positive noise (even if we go behind or struggle to break them down) that cannot be ignored to try and shake this ill feeling off and hopefully, please god, remind the Manager and players how lucky they are to be at this great club and how close we are to achieving something special.

This forum is a safe place to have our rants and vent our worries but we all have to do our part Saturday as we are getting close to the point of no return here...

Honestly, Spurs fans sometimes make me wish I wasn't in love with this club. I know it's normal out of 'PL' fans but, honestly.

We reached a CL cup final a few months ago. We are 7th in the table and level in points with two of our rivals. And fans want a change.

It's both pathetic and completely stupid. We get a new manager in what do you think would actually happen? Ok we might get a little bump, then most likely finish 5th. Like who can realistically do a better job.

I get a lot comes from frustration. We haven't been playing that well since last Christmas (nor have half our rivals, but that's a different story) but problems do not equal sack manager. It rarely works that way, and frankly while we haven't been playing that well, it hasn't been completely awful either.

Poch has clearly earnt time because he has had us playing so well and has built something out of nothing. He also deserves time because the 'negative feeling' at the club is not actually bared out by the current results this season, which while not great still put us in the mix for 3rd. We have also had a harder fixture list than most of our rivals and they are also dropping points against teams they wouldn't have two seasons ago.

The whole idea that we are in real crisis is complete self-entitled crap. Leyton Orient are in crisis, we are living the dream. We are not even in relative crisis, This isn't like the 90s but this isn't even like Ramos, the end of Jol, or even anywhere near as bad as the beginning of Poch. A season we finished 5th.

All our realistic targets are still very much achievable, and the issues we currently have are just that issues. Poch for me deserves at least a season in any case, were things to go anything but catastrophically wrong. Partly, because any replacement would benefit from a proper pre-season, partly because we would need to take time at deciding who the right option will be (people wanted Van Boer instead of Poch, imagine!) and partly out of respect and understanding of the genuine capabilities Poch has. There is no real benefit of making a change now in any case.
Couldn’t agree more with your post, particularly the first paragraph. We seem to have more than our fair share.

Exactly this - we don't know exactly whats going on in the dressing room and the three players running down their contracts maybe part of the painful rebuild Poch has referred to. Knee jerk sackings rarely work in the long term. And Mourinho!! FFS!

Something is seriously wrong within. Poch just seems to have lost his enthusiasm. He seems to have no idea how he wants to set up, flitting between formations that don’t look like they’ve been worked on. He seems unable to make changes, and most worrying of all, the players look as though they no longer believe in him. A far cry from the days they looked like they’d run through walls for him. The man himself seems uninterested, and appear to be more concerned with moaning to the press.
He is without doubt the best manager I’ve seen at Spurs during my time, but I just feel this romance has run it’s course. Our hunger in the press and dynamism with which we attacked, is a dim and distant memory. I always remember the comments by the Watford boss, Flores (I think) who said we were impossible to play against, hounding them like dogs. When was the last time we played at that intensity?
If he feels the board have not backed him, he should have made a stand sooner, as it is ultimately him who will be judged, not them.

I reckon the end is very close. It’s not a knee jerk to a ropey start to the season, and woeful result tonight, it’s based on our entire 2019 form. The CL final appearance glossed over the cracks.
But who is out there? Mourinho? Can’t see it.
Definitely too early to go with a caretaker till the end of the season, but would that equally be too early for someone under contract to want to jump ship?? Allegri could tick the boxes if he can be lured from his sabbatical. Available and very experienced.

How unlucky can one lad get eh? He’s looked bang up for it this season.

I’d chuck Winks in that sentiment as well. He’s also busting a gut at present and missed a lot with his ankle last few years (World Cup and Spurs)

Take the CL final which we barely turned up for out of the equation for a moment.

Doesn’t look so rosy then, does it?

We did turn up for the CL final - that game was changed by a bullshit penalty. From then on it was a complete boring arm wrestle. But speak to Klopp about whether "we turned up".

Also it doesn't negate the mental guts it took to qualify and get past City and then fight back against Ajax.

And it doesn't change the fact we were 2 points from top in January 2019.

Now it's possible everything has fallen apart and can't be rectified. But you can't shit on everything that came before. It happened. It was real. That was Poch.

So that's the worry about getting rid. And it's a legitimate one.
