Questioning his ability is pretty dumb. But I think it’s perfectly fair to question and criticize that he’s clearly not in good enough shape.

You can already feel people are itching to jump the gun on this guy.

Fuck me, he's played a couple of competitive games for us, and has a goal and assist.

He then got injured and came out of the team, back in tonight after a cameo at the weekend... A team that saw several changes and with a CB at RB and we looked disjointed...

Bit of perspective before we start sharpening the knives ?

I think he'll be massive signing for us.

Absolutely. I almost wouldn’t play him st the moment so he doesn’t get tarred with the same brush that some who play for us deserve to be tarred with. ( if that makes sense! )

He’s joined a team of nearly men and is getting their stick. I think he’s looked absolutely brilliant in parts.

Some nice touches today and he’s always looking to be positive. But does still make the odd error and still getting up to speed. But I thought today he was decent.

Jesus fucking Christ the impatience on display in this thread is utterly staggering. How many top players come to England and have to adapt to the physical demands? It happens at top clubs every season.

Ndombele is an immense talent and if Son’s goal hadn’t been chalked off we’d all be praising his vertical passing which set up the goal. Instead we’re all lashing out looking for scapegoats. New signings usually need a bit of time FFS I can’t believe it even needs to be said.
Exactly.

Drogba and Essien took time. So too did Fabinho.

It's only his 4th full game for us too.

He was good today or rather so much better than in mid week

He does always look forward and play forward which does instigate errors but i dont mind that because risk v reward.

I'm not too worried yet. I would like to see him get more involved though. Our play should go through him but at the moment it's passing him by. Fitness will help I guess. Lamela and Winks were everywhere so they tended to dominate possession.

That with Lamela, Son and Kane ahead.... Now we are talking. But as you say. Probably won't happen.

Yeah, it’s obvious we are calling out for a more defensively astute player in the middle of the park. Dier is the obvious choice, but that’s more down to if he can show some marginal mobility. Looking at how Rodri plays for Man City should be the template. In my opinion, Dier could thrive in that type of role; sit deeper, protect spaces vacated by advancing defenders and play simple passes and when possible, exploit lanes in defenses. Dier is not the player Rodri is, but he could play in that role.

Saw a stat saying we had 0 tackles and 1 interception between our midfield players today. That is unacceptable and a huge reason why we are struggling. We are constantly being overrun in midfield.

I'm pretty sure Sissoko made a tackle.

So Kante, Fabinho, Martial, etc. were all poor purchases in your opinion? Did Ricardo Perreira look shit to you today? Is Lacazette shit for the scum? Talk about a gross overgeneralization.

Ndombele’s made all of a half-dozen appearances for us, two off the bench. In those scant appearances he’s made quite an impact (Villa, the throughball to Son today which under a sane offside review paradigm would have wrapped up the match). Yes there’s still more to come from him but I can’t believe the criticism I’m seeing.
People just see Nkoudou and Njie and think all Ligue 1 players are average, despite the fact it’s one of the more successful leagues when it comes to producing good PL players.

Like Lloris and Lucas have been great for us ffs.

If you look at the stats of Tanguy Ndombele you can clearly see we have a top quality player. I think he just needs to work on his overall fitness and strength, also he will obviously need time to acclimate to English football. Given time he will become an invaluable member of our squad.
