He was a useless tosser that van Nistelrooy - only scored 349 goals over 592 games spanning 7 clubs. Lucky or what?

Further to the 'goal poacher' theme. When I was stationed in Germany for several years, I always made a point of catching the Bayern match highlights on tv as I loved to watch Der Kaiser and Gerd Müller. Gerd scored 563 goals in 605 games for Bayern and totalled in his career 653 goals in 707 matches. Phenomenal.

Harry’s first goal on Saturday, the speed of thought after a double ricochet and then the instinctive stab past the keeper, was deceptively skilful and reminiscent of ‘Der Bomber’.

Yeah but Amstel vs Gamma Ray or Neck Oil. No contest/fair comparison there.
But then the Gamma Ray is 50% more expensive than the Amstel at The Beehive, so it really depends what you're looking for. Beavertown all the way for me and on that front the ground is ridiculously "cheap" - I wouldn't be surprised to pay more than £6 for a Gamma Ray where I live in Norwich.

I don't know why but I found the Neck Oil far more gassy in the stadium than when I've had it in other pubs. Trying to get a couple of quick pints in before kick off was a struggle!

Gamma Ray is bloody lovely. The ground price is no different than my local pub so that's a win for the stadium. You cant drink these kind of beers quickly though...too heavy/thick.

RedCaff has never been full of people who can judge a player. There's a thread or two on there, I assume populated by under 25 year olds, who think that the "original" Ronaldo (fat/de Lima) was some plodder who can't be compared to Cristiano

I've been hearing the club are selling the beer cheaper than the nearby pubs who seem to be charging £5 a pint.
Last game last season the Coach and Horses was the same price as the ground, if i remember correctly.
At the first test event i nipped into the Bell and Hare for a quick pint and it was over a fiver. I imagine that all the pubs have had to put the prices down to compete with the prices in the stadium.

37.5% I think. For 32% more alcohol (5.4% vs 4.1%) and that’s before we’ve got onto the vastly superior taste. Still no contest for me.

Having said all that, love the beehive! ?

Spurs Thread - Go to page 24 for recent info

They looked all over the shop up until the last half hour when they got a grip of Villa's flagging midfield.

Ndombele showed why we were allegedly interested.

Thought that young Walker-Peters lad (RB) did well.

I think they’re comfortable for 3rd. Long way off City and Liverpool. Kane is a absolutely class striker.

It’s quite a coincidence that both Kyle Walker and Kyle Walker-Peters are right-backs.
:cautious:

The RB in their reserves is called Peter Walker
:cautious:

It's the cloning farm at full capacity. Our Bale clones are still maturing

Not sure why we were, if we were, interested in Ndombele. Nothing spectacular and in no way he could be Fernandinho replacement.

Spurs are good team though. When they are in full flow, their pressing and attacking waves are formidable. Hard to resist for most of other teams.

The ndombele goal was very Yaya-esque

He is very Yaya-esque full stop.

Hence why we ultimately signed Rodri as he is very much a Busquets type, and better suited to our needs.

Villa did surprisingly well until they took Wesley off, then simply had no out ball, the young RB Walker should have been sent off for the usual Poch style of play, if you can not win the ball start a fight, but Ndombele was very good with a rocket of a shot MTM

I thought the keeper's position was poor. Ndombele had around three quarters of the goal to aim at.

Are they aware that we were missing about 5 first choice players? We don't all have the luxury of starting the season with basically the entire first 11 fit

I've got Neck Oil £5.50 and Gamma Ray £6 in my head, but if my memory has malfunctioned (ironically most likely due to too much of the aforementioned) and they're 50p cheaper then I'm even happier! I've always been an Antwerp Arms man myself (before the new ground).

I love this type of comment. Could not be further from the truth, bar a few games where we lost our cool, but we're certainly not seen as having a soft centre anymore.

It's a narrative that fans will hang onto just to get at us.

It shows a massive lack of self-awareness coming from a City fan. The fact of the matter is that when you play as high up the pitch as we and they do, you need to be willing to commit a lot of fouls in the opposition's half to prevent counter attacks.

now there's a shock lol. They're clearly amongst the dirtiest sides in the league and are well versed in the tactical, cynical foul, especially when things aren't going their way. It's easy to ignore it when they also play fantastic football but underpinning it is a very dark cynical side.

A few from Blue Moon:

Could arguably become our strongest challengers over the season, and I expect a hard, physical contest. A draw would not be the worst result, but a defeat would just add to their confidence; similarly, a win for us would likely dent them. An interesting sideshow will be Rodri v Ndombele.

Think this lot will finish runners-up this season.
Late kick-off plenty of beer, good atmosphere mixed in with a weaker Spurs side dye to injuries/suspensions.
A win by at least 2 clear goals.

Got a feeling it'll be 1-1, hope I'm wrong though.

One of the toughest games of the season. I still see the champions winning this. Come on city

Think we'll have too much for Spurs. Will have to watch the pace of Moura, up top for them.
At least they won't have Son, as well.

If we played Spurs 10 times and Chelsea 10 times we’d beat Chelsea more than Spurs, Spurs are the better side regardless of last years league position

Such a big chance early on. Win this well and I can see the dippers already starting to feel a little heat. It’s so early but if they see us hit our stride early that could be a big psychological blow.

I think Spurs will becomes a very decent outfit this season too so catching them early while they are settling in an entirely new midfield could be a good a time as any. Expect us to do the business.

4-1 city, we will destroy them and put a marker Down early. :)

we will be up for this players and fans. Bernie to come in for his work rate and control.
Think we win this 3-1 Sterling, kev & Sergio - Kane for them from the penalty spot. c'mon Cityyyyy

I have them down to finish second so I rate Spurs. Not enough to take anything off us at the Etihad, though.
I confess to having a private agenda too. The guy on my neighbouring allotment, who is a Spurs fan and town gobshite, has put a plastic cockerel on our party fence. I’m looking forward to painting a bright red arse ring on it.

I just want to see that lisping prick Kane shut out completely.
We need a higher tempo and quicker ball speed. The chances will come, we just need to be ruthless. 2-1 City.
No need for a dig reference the lisp, you are better than that

Well said, the abuse Kane gets is beyond pathetic - a class striker and seems a decent guy
