I don’t expect us to dispose of teams like West Ham away with such ease:
We have the players to do so again now imo. It'll be interesting to see how Poche uses the different strengths of the squad to get us back to where we were in the last season at the old ground.

Considering their injuries etc I thought Arsenal looked more than decent and they will be challenging for a top 4 place providing they can keep their best defenders fit.
I thought they looked quite poor, gave the ball away a lot and in dangerous areas, ended up putting themselves under unnecessary pressure. Against a side with a more potent attach they could've easily conceded a few.

We have a very good team and as we change little can build good consistency.

We are in no position to write off beating teams like West Ham away with ease like it is nothing.

That Arsenal side on paper looked poor yesterday and I am not sure they can do much about it. Bellerin and Tierney are out for a few months, Luiz isn't much of an improvement on the cbs, the only thing that will change is Lacazette coming in.

Not convinced on Pepe either, really don't understand that transfer. If they had gone and spent £80m on two centrebacks, I think most would be more worried about them..

But when you're 4 cbs are Sokratis, Mustafi, Luiz and Chambers...:ROFLMAO:

Are they?

Holding was apparently their best cb last season.

Forgot about Holding, he's injured too isn't he?

Bellerin is due back September but after his lengthy time out, I don't think we will see him until October. Tierney they have said 4-6 weeks before he is training with them.

Holding played with the u-23s on Aug 3rd after training with the seniors in July. He's back soon.

Sokratis has been quite solid for them hasn’t he?

Certainly a step up from Mustafi lol.

I’ll be happy if that defence plays against us. If we actually turn up in the derby and play like we know we can we should win that game. Obviously it never works like that though.

Sokratis has been ok but severe lack of pace makes him a targe for most teams.

Sokratis and Luiz partnership is a red card waiting to happen, especially with Xhaka trying to protect them:ROFLMAO:

I said like West Ham. I think City will often breeze past teams of that quality, whereas we will usually win but wins of that margin will be rare for us.

Agree? I posted some stats comparing our shots/on target/ scored between us, Liverpool and City in the match thread and our inferior chance conversion would concur with what you said.

Im not sure those stats in isolation show that much tbh.
I think our players are just instructed to take a much more 'shoot on sight' approach, whereas Liverpool and City in particular, almost try to walk it in.
It's just a different tactical approach.

I just think we're not clinical enough.
