The Coutinho loan doesn't really add up for me. Just doesn't strike me as the kind of deal Levy would ever consider. Don't know if it's just to create bit of noise/diversion for something else that is planned (Dybala maybe) but struggling to see us actually going for something like that.

Juve need to finance the Lukaku transfer, Barcelona the return of Neymar, and we have the finances for Fernandes and Dybala with Coutinho being a loan deal.

With an option to buy it makes sense in that it allows us to do other business within our transfer budget, bring Coutinho in, with the bulk of his fee going towards next years kitty.

It makes more sense with a option to purchase. Why would Coutihno want to go back to Barca now?
