I cannot believe Eriksen is doing this to us. He said he would sign for us if the fascist cockmunchers weren't interested, which they're clearly not. But instead of inking a deal with us (one that understandably would've included a very reasonable release clause to any non-League team he approved of, front and center in the contract)- dude up and threw his toys out of the pram and, by doing so, is now making his situation exponentially more difficult to address. The little fucker.
I despise him now- and no, I most certainly will not "thank him for his service," something I would've gladly done had he simply acted like a true professional and helped the club on his way out. People bleat on and on about how this is a business, how he had no affinity for Spurs (but rather saw us as a stepping stone on the way to landing at a European "giant") and yet here we are, 6 years down the line and we have improved our club to the point where we are one of the European "giants." We are a first-class organization by anyone's standard, one capable of winning trophies, with a gorgeous new state-of-the-art stadium and training ground, located smack dab in the middle of one of the most desirable cities in which to live on the planet. Furthermore, we are/were willing to open up the vault for him financially, are clearly headed in the right direction, have one (and possibly two) world class players amongst the 25 and have what might be the best manager on earth-- and yet here he is, unwilling to facilitate his exit in a way that doesn't burn every bridge he's ever built between himself, the squad and us supporters.
How does he not feel enough affinity for us to at least help us out a bit? Is he that coldhearted that he just doesn't care? We are letting him walk for God's sake-- we just don't want it to be for next to nothing! Can he not understand this? I just can't fathom how a guy who spent over half a decade with us- and who had many amazing times/moments/memories at our club- can all of a sudden get so grimy. He's literally undoing- by the day- all of the goodwill he's built up with our fanbase the more this nonsense drags on.
Anyway I say if he can get dirty, so should we. We ought to buy both Fernandes and Lo Celso and then just let Eriksen rot for a year in the reserves. Obviously I know that that won't happen- never in a million years- but man oh man do I wish it would. We have the money; Ndombele's free (the Champions League run paid for him) and Fernandes and GLC would simply represent the completion of two big acquisitions in three windows; hardly doing a Leeds...
I suppose even as a player you don't need to have Tottenham in your heart (as we all do), but- on the flipside- you shouldn't be able to wipe your ass with us either.
Fuck him. Recalcitrant, emotionless, tackle-avoiding little fucker. GTFO of my club.
