The latest ITK is highly concerning.

Regardless of the ‘chill, there’s still x days of the window to go, we broke our transfer record’ positivity, Poch was clear that he wanted to build his new Spurs team this summer and - to date - we’ve signed just 1 player for the first team.

Lo Celso has been treated as a near certainty for months now. Sessegnon also.

If we once again don’t give Poch what he needs to evolve the team then I’d be very concerned about him leaving us.

Dont get it why people seems to be upset we dont sign people/fast enough.
!

Well that's screamingly obvious, whether you agree with it or not.

(1) Whenever our opponents buy a player (any player) it stresses people out. Doubly so if it's an obvious rival. Triply so if it's a big signing.
(2) ITK often results in people assuming a deal is as good as done (Lo Celso a case in point) so every little delay or hitch results in people losing their shit.
(3) Past windows are so erratic it's impossible to tell whether "we've got this" or "we've fucked this up". That results in people lurching from one to the other.

Ultimately, we all want to have everything locked up so we can prepare well for the coming season and we're not all sitting here stressed out wondering if we've got a RB for the season, or a creative CM etc etc. As it is, many of us are sitting here stressed out.

I couldn't agree more with you over this and feel it will happen if he's not backed to the hilt from this day forward then Poch and his team will be gone!
And that spells BIG trouble

We all know there is only one man to blame if a Potch isn’t backed in these remaining 10 or so days of the transfer window.

If he isn’t then I really wouldn’t blame Potch for walking out. As we do need to strength to finish in the top 4 this season no doubt about that

This is the biggest concern, especially with the situation at Real

Indeed...the GLC deal has gone from being ‘close..with a few details to sort’ to goalposts being moved so what’s to say the next step is ‘deal off!’

Why is it always the selling club that changes terms or whatever? Always seems to be everyone else’s fault but ours, surely the buck has to stop somewhere, yet here we are, less than 2 weeks to the start of the season ..... and we only have one player in, and that’s dembele’s replacement, and it looks as if we are going to be scrambling yet again.

Not been on much cos away and poor reception - probably just as well, or I’d be as downbeat as some on here.
Poch not being backed? Deals falling through? I really read the itk as very different. I reckon GLc & sess will get sorted - based on the majority of itk we’ve had thus far. Let’s not forget that being privvy to ‘sensitive’ info via itk always puts us - somewhat - in a more precarious situation when there’s a ‘twitch’ in negotiations. The majority here are not equipped to really know the nuances of transfers and the posturing between all parties. I’m still feeling entirely positive that Poch will be backed. If we sign more than these two then brilliant; if not, then we don’t. It’s not as if spurs haven’t been proactive in their pursuit of new players. I’m not pro or anti levy, but I’ve felt good rumblings from those that provide us with ITK in here.

Hate to say it but that's where my head is right now. Hoping the next week proves me wrong. Fingers crossed.

The problem with clubs with less income buying quicker than ourselves is that we are now targeting elite players competing with elite clubs
It’s a totally different ball game to the likes of who Everton and say Leicester are targeting
It’s the food chain my friend
We are now one of the big sharks yet maybe the smallest big shark
????

Because we were speedy Gonzales before dining at the top table weren't we?

well last season ITK at 1st were blaming Levy, and it then turned out to be Poch, so this time it's being blamed on Betis

we only have 1 player but hope to be signing 2 more who would of cost us a hell of a lot more money if we had purchased them before they started their comps, but when it's not your money you don't care.

To be fair though, if we get them you are correct. If we once again fail to drag these deals over the line like last year than questions can rightly be asked

It's not weird, the terms changed last minute, and not from our end.

ITK has NOT said the Fee changed, just the Terms. Maybe Betis blew all their money on Fekir, but still need some upfront money to sign one more player. Levy can change the Terms, if Betis gives him some offset in the deal. Bigger deals take longer time.

Well it's looking more and more likely the stadium build was to line Lewis's and Levy's pockets.

It's wierd if Betis move the goalpost AFTER buying Fekir when their coach admit they can't afford both, risking getting "stuck" with a pissed off Lo Celso and more expenses than they can afford.

Some of you need to realise transfers are far more complicated than going down your local corner shop and buying a packet of sweets. Yes I used sweets as the metaphors on purpose because I think some of you will relate to it on far better level.

It's very somple really. There was money to spend but we couldn't get the players Poch wanted as such he decided he'd rather wait. No one to blame just how it was. In the same way no one is blaming Betis for anything. All they are doing is trying to maximise their asset.

High level football transfers are incredibly complicated. Especially when you have a budget, and only want top end players. I know it doesn't seem it but I can assure you it's the same for every team. I'm honestly of the opinion now that you'd probably be best not being told what's going on as far as the day to day stuff is concerned because as soon as something doesn't go the way some of you want it's toys out the pram time even though with these things it can easily change back within hours.

*Not specifically aimed at the post I quoted.
